CINCINNATI - A woman who weighed more than 300 pounds noticed something strange happening to her body. As she lost more than 60 pounds over several weeks without going on a diet, she said she could feel a large mass growing inside her. "It didn't feel normal," Grace Radtke said. "It was like a long pregnancy." After being encouraged by family members, she finally went for medical help that led to the removal of a 66-pound non-cancerous, ovarian tumor from her abdomen on Dec. 3 at University Hospital.

I think I'd notice if I was carrying around Calista Flockhart. Gross.

She lost 60 pounds because a 60 pound tumor was growing inside her body? I don't get it.

I think I'd notice if I was carrying around Calista Flockhart.

So would my wife. And that's far mnore dangerous to my health than any tumor.

I think the writer is be saying she weighed over 300 pounds after she lost 60 pounds, exclusive of the weight loss due to the tumor removal.

The Cincinnati Enquirer had the best headline

66-pound tumor removed: 'I can't believe that thing was in me,' relieved woman says

Wish I'd written that.

Yeechh! This woman has more problems than just the cyst. I'm glad she finally realized that "Something..was not right" but the fact of her obesity was there long before the cyst and that certainly wasn't right yet she appears to have done nothing about that problem.

Wow. The equivalent of over six 10# bags of potatoes in one area of her body. Wonder what the hell kind of surgical tool was necessary to remove it.

My late attorney, Gary L. Snyder ESQ, a Good Conservative, had a *benign* 32lb tumor removed from his abdomen in '94, was dosed with chemo and radiation, and died from a heart attack.

This woman was darned lucky.

A woman that used to work for me had a similar problem. Her stomach looked like she was 8 months pregnant. She was very obese at about 300 lbs, and they took a 50 pound non cancerous tumor out of her abdomen. Next time we saw her, she looked like a woman who had been pregnant and had given birth. She had lost almost 80 lbs within a couple of months. Last time I saw her, she was skinny.

I had a cousin with a similar problem. He thought he was gaining weight and is normally thin/trim, even at his age. Late sixties. No amount of exercise/dieting worked. Ended up having a 25 pound tumor.
