Of course there was life on Mars. Tharks, Red Men, Black Men, Plant Men, Holy Therns, Synthetic men, white apes, all kind of life.

Virgin Galactic is going to be the true herald of the new age.

More power to Virgin if they so much as break even after 20 years.

The Treaty is firmly in place and the State will hold the monopoly to space resource development for a long time to come. It might prove useful to note the distinction between Space Tourism and Space Development. Space Tourism is never going to be more than a sideshow to what could be with private Space Development. State Resource Development will never happen. Private Resource Development could happen, but only if the citizens somehow move the State to recognize that the State already has asserted sovereignty over the entire universe and must allow for private property rights to celestial resources to be claimed if we are to ever move significantly into space--ever get past the present limits to growth.

That's not a problem here.

I hereby claim all the universe lying beyond the light horizon.

Even though the signatories to the 1967 UN Outer Space Treaty have claimed sovereignty over the entire universe, that does not preclude private property claims, in fact, it allows private property claims.

I also claim a particular galaxy that I won't name so as to not draw attention to it.

With an atmosphere full of greenhouse gases, solar energy would be retained, and Mars would have a much more stable temperature range, possibly quite livable.

Indeed. The size of Mars was its downfall.

EVIDENCE OF A YOUNG EARTH COULD BE RIGHT IN THEIR FACE

However, you ignore the direct evidence from SN1987A showing the Universe/Earth is far older than 6K years.
