Owners want to break the union, not settle.

That's what the plan has been all along. This is a meeting set up by the NHLPA. The owners are just playing along.

Bottom line - no NHL this year.

The owners have created such an uneconomical system that nobody can find a buyer for their teams. Contraction is necessary.

I had been w/ the owners and their plight so far, but this is a real concession on the part of the players and should cure what the owners have complained about.

I never have been on board with a salary cap. It is artificial and I hate what the NFL has become b/c of it.

Up until now there has been no real serious negotiating. Hopefully they will accept, or at least use it as a starting point for real negotiating. If the owners balk at this proposal, we know they are not negotiating in good faith. They cannot expect to get everything they want.

It is time for the owners to step up to the plate.

To all the hockey bashers - Grow up. I expect more from posters on this site.
