When the Press becomes an Activist
The Drudge Report ^ | Dec 9, 2004 | El Oviedo

Posted on 12/09/2004 10:28:31 AM PST by El Oviedo

If you visit the Drudge Report you will see a post that describes how a reporter embedded with our troops created news and brag all over his newspaper.

This guy should be fired. A reporter reports the news not creates the news and report it.

Please comment.

Liberal reporters create news. Liberal judges create laws.

Pitt's staged story is even more amusing when you look at the story he reported the day before:

http://www.greene.xtn.net/index.php?table=news&template=news.view.subscriber&newsid=117612
"...the regiment is to fly more than half of its soldiers to bases somewhere northeast of Baghdad.
Once at their permanent camps, the 278th is to take over armored vehicles now being used by the unit the 278th is replacing, Maj. Sprouse said. "

Yep, he knew this before he set up the question for Rumsfeld.

The 278th put out a press release today on "the question" :
http://209.215.156.25/Pressrel/04Dec/04-61%20Statement%20on%20Rumsfeld%20question%2008%20Dec%2004.htm
"... I have been assured that no 278th soldier will go forward in a vehicle without at least “level 3” armor.
According to my information, 278th Vehicles that are not armored will be trucked forward and will not be occupied by soldiers. "

I know you'll get a lot of cheerleading, but I don't see a problem. Mr. Rumsfeld works for us, not vice versa. The question is a valid question, regardless of how it was relayed to Mr. Rumsfeld. Besides, it's not like they called him an idiot, or said everything was broken. It was a question regarding a specific problem.
When you regard pointing to a problem as a problem itself, then you have an unmanagable situation. Very much like the emperor's new robe.

All reporters are activists. We will all be better off once everyone realizes that.

Yet again we get the cart before the horse....remember Dan Rather cleans up his planned propaganda with the excuse that even if the document is false, its content is true. "Poop" on all their egotistical heads.

I read this on Drudge this morning. It was a huge mistake to let these lefty reporters in country. He was really proud of his deception, typical of these slims and then they wonder why no one trusts them.
