Monday marked the second week of Scott Peterson's penalty trial, which will determine whether he receives a sentence of death or life in prison for killing his wife, Laci, and their unborn child. Fourteen defense witnesses testified, and all portrayed him as a respectful, pleasant and quiet young man who did not deserve a death sentence..........

More witnesses take stand on Scott Peterson's behalf
1:56 p.m.: REDWOOD CITY - Executing Scott Peterson would tear apart a family already marked by the murder of his grandfather and the time his mother and her siblings spent in an orphanage, Petersons uncle testified Monday.
I, for one, I dont believe hes guilty, said John Latham, testifying on day five of the penalty phase in Petersons double-murder trial. I know hes guilty by trial, but in my heart I cant believe that.
Turning to the jury that convicted Peterson Nov. 12 of murdering his wife, Laci, and unborn son, Conner, Latham said: I know this guy. I know his family and I would not like to see him die. It would tear our family apart.
Latham was among 11 defense witnesses - ranging from Petersons junior high school principal and the dean in charge of discipline at his high school to uncles and cousins - who took the stand this morning and asked jurors to spare the 32-year-old Modesto mans life.

SORRY, ALL THE TICKETS HAVE BEEN GIVEN AWAY!
As for Peterson, it seems, the total absence of passion, anger and conflict attributed to his "likability" for many. Everything that made him non-human made him the "perfect person."
Like I said, there is a lesson here... one we've learned many times. But nobody will glean much from it.
This Peterson family and their so called friends are the most bizarre, unethical people.
There was testimony about his cheating ways that seem to have passed over the heads of these nutcases.
I wonder if we have any psychiatrists or psychologists on here who can weigh in on my guesswork: It seems to me this guy was a pampered child who could do no wrong, used to being the highschool hero, but life afterwards was not what he thought he deserved. His job was not prestigious, his social status was diminished, and he wasn't getting the hero worship from his spouse or others as he his parents and others had taught him to expect. So he had an affair(s)for the sake of his own ego. Laci became a weight that tied him down financially and otherwise, the baby would make it worse, so he removed them.
"He was a quiet man..."
Cant we get this over with yet! Sheesh..sounds like Garagos is grasping as straws--his HIGH SCHOOL GOLF coach
I was just listening to the radio news and they said Scott broke down after the jury left and was pleading with Gergaros about something but they didn't know what it was.
He was Catholic. That explains it he couldn't get a divorce or an abortion.
IMHO it should have been first degree for both mother and son. What a bunch of enablers these people are testifying on his behalf. And his mother is the biggest enabler of all.
What are you going to do with your life when this case is over, Runningbear?
Scott was nice to small animals. He only killed wives and babies. /sarcasm
