Clear signs people aren't over the election

Most political lawn signs come down right after an election. But this year a few die-hard partisans in the east metro area still have signs in their yards.

Almost all the remaining signs belong to supporters of the Democratic ticket of John Kerry and John Edwards. And the vast majority of those posters can be found in St. Paul and Minneapolis. Political posters are now a rarity in the suburbs.

The election is over, so why can't those Kerry-Edwards supporters acknowledge their candidates lost and move on?

"I'm protesting the election and George Bush's presidency for the next four years," Kay Olson Roskaft said of the Kerry-Edwards sign in her yard on the 1900 block of Randolph Avenue in St. Paul.

I suspect many homes still sporting Kerry/Edwards signs still have last year's Christmas lights up as well.

Right, it is difficult to remove signs or lights when high on drugs.

I can't say much. For the first four years of Clinton's presidency my car sported a bumper sticker that read, "Don't Blame Me, I Voted For Bush."

What's the problem? I'm over it and I'm happy.

I'm sure there are a few of these folks who genuinely think Kerry is going to make a comeback, because of a recount or something, and actually win the election.

Delusional, yes, but if you check out "the site which must not be named", and which has the same initials as Dumb Underwear, you'll see lots of posters saying exactly that.

You forgot to put blue state alert!

I see alot of Paul Welfare signs still up in Highland Park. There's probably one still up at Sarah Jane Olson's house.

My feeling is that loudly proclaiming what your views are is very important to the left these days. This is why they are so enamored of public protests and of such symbolic gestures as wearing ribbons, using politically correct speech, etc. I don't really know why being a leftie isn't enough; they have to tell us all that they're lefties too.

It ain't over here in Washington state. Third "recount" for the governor's race is about to begin -- and guess what? They're still adding ballots to be counted.

I live in Palm Beach County, Florida where the majority of folks suffering from PEST reside. I don't really worry about them because they are dying off one by one as the days go by from old age and senility. These "not too bright" folks would vote for Adolph Hitler if he were a Democrat.

Getting serious though, I have noticed that just about all of the signs and bumper stickers for "traitor" Democrat John Kerry have disappeared. I believe that these left-wing liberals here were stunned by the almost 400,000 votes that GW Bush received over John Kerry. These south Florida morons actually believed the Terry McAuliffe/"traitor" Democrat BS that John Kerry would carry Florida. Funny, I guess they forgot all about the whipping Jeb Bush gave to their boy, Bill McBride in 2002. They have now crawled into the woodwork. I suggest they get real very fast, cause we are going to take down Senator Bill Nelson in 2006!!! When that happy and glorious day arrives. Florida will be a totally "Red State". Fools thought they were the ones that were angry and mad. Isn't that what the MSM was telling them? Fact is: it was really us Pubbies that were mad and ticked off at these traitor/treason Democrats!!!

I guess it really does take a village. A village idiot it seems. Even several village idiots to leave up signs crying about their loss for 4 long years.

It's so funny...but, I've seen posts at DU where they were furious at President Bush for that!!

Seems someone should do one of Klintoon and Lewd-insky, in their compromising positions and see if it draws the same ire!!

Believe it or not, a co-worker refused to vote for Bush BECAUSE of that video. That was the ONLY reason given...

Here in the People's Republic of Portland, hubby left the www.combatvetsagainstkerry.com website name on his truck, along with the bumper stickers we designed.

The reaction has been extremely explosive - almost violent.

"The election is over, so why can't those Kerry-Edwards supporters acknowledge their candidates lost and move on?"

They're just too lazy to collect the signs. I've noticed it is always the loser whose signs get left. The winners want their signs collected for reuse and/or to give away/sell as memorabilia.
