It was a short film clip of Bush standing at a podium and I don't know who the audience was. After NBC aired it their were no reporter comments on it.

Why don't you get the basic facts?
Are you aware that all illegals must pay a fine for jumping the border before further consideration? That they then get a temporary visa for work? Then they must continue to register in order to stay here?
And that without the documentation they are denied all social benefits?
Get some facts, man, before you go off on the plan. It's a way to log and track.

I heard nothing about any compromise in the message by Bush that NBC aired tonight.
I would think the first step would be deportation. But I am talking about rewarding people for breaking the law, ie. amnesty.

Neither party wants to deal with this because it cuts across a number of issues - not the least of which is enriching their rich contributors who want illegal labor and the ability to skirt laws that they also will not enforce. Then they cover their tracks by saying 'no american wants to work the job.'
Pressure is on and building. If they don't do something about it and clean up their act, America will clean it up for them. This isn't a Dem vs. Pub thing. They're all up to their eyeballs in it and refuse to represent us.
NY Slimes makes no mention of immigration. Lead on Drudge. But of course they tend not to report things they do not agree with.

I agree that it is no longer a Dem vs Repub thing now. You're probably right though, the American people tend to work things out for the better, eventually. Damn I love this country. We'll see what happens. I do think we have enough Representatives in Congress to block this, I hope.
Oh man! Are we going to get like fifty threads a day regarding immigration? I think our only option is just to put the Buchananites and 3rd party voters down on each occasion.
