FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Hurricane forecasters are calling for an above-average Atlantic hurricane season again next year after one of the most destructive seasons on record.
"We believe that 2005 will continue the trend of enhanced major hurricane activity in the Atlantic basin that we have seen over the past 10 years," Colorado State University forecaster William Gray said Friday.
Gray's forecast team predicts there will be 11 named storms, with six reaching hurricane status. Of the six, three likely will develop into major hurricanes with sustained winds of 111 mph or greater. There is a 69 percent chance of at least one of the major hurricanes striking the U.S. mainland, Gray said.

El Nino.
Well yeah Bush did win election. He caused the rest, right?
Can't they give us a break?
How about telling us this around may.
Give us a few months of rest.
Bush makes horrible hurricane seasons so Halliburton can make $$ in clean up operations.
In other news: Floridians predict major snow storms in Colorado.
They look back ten years and predict another Hurricane season. Dont have to stick your neck out far to do that do you?
Until tornado season.
As bad as the 2004 season was, Texans never even got grazed. I want to thank all Floridians for barring the door.
I do not like to think that tornado season is now 7 months long!

Major El Ninos reduce Atlantic hurricane numbers and strength.
However, it does not look like there will be a major El Nino next year in August and September.
