And where the hell are the parents?
...latchkey kids, most likely.
I have been a housewife since before our kids were born. WHY? ... someone HAS TO WATCH THE KIDS!~
Not saying my kids are perfect. Not saying there weren't problems and ups and downs. But I was HERE. I wonder where THOSE parents are, that was a great question.
I just wanted my kids to grow up and say I was the meanest mom in the whole world. Made them go to school, study, do homework, eat at the table with manners, dress neatly, stay out of trouble, no drugs/gangs/sex/tattoos etc when they were way too young to even be thinking that way. Guess what? they are all in their 20s now and they THANK ME and they feel sorry for kids whose parents DON'T Watch them closely and MAKE them behave. Thank you GOD!~ HE gave me such WONDERFUL CHILDREN.
My children, my life, my joy.
at home watching free cable TV and longing for that next check to come in at the beginning of the month.
That's what I was thinking.
We have parties quite regularly at our house. In fact, when we put on an addition a few years ago, before our son hit his teen years, we designed the addition to include a game room with pool table, etc.
My son has friends over all the time, but we're always here and visibly present.
We also have "family parties" where my kid's friends come, but the parents are invited too.
These types of parties have been especially successful, and we like getting to know the parents of our son's friends.
That was my very first thought on reading the first two paragraphs of this article. If parents are in the home, this kind of crap will not likely be going on.
Out at the bars, looking for their next partner.
Great commentary addresses the "where were the parents?" threads.
