St. Louis Public Schools administrators pulled a lesson from a new reading curriculum after some parents complained that it was racist.
-snip-
The first-grade homework lesson involved the sound the letter "H" makes. It showed a monkey named "Hip." Hip tipped his hat and tap danced. He ended up in a cage eating a banana at the end of the lesson.

WTF????????????????? How could that be racist?????????
The punchline:
The revised lesson renames the monkey "Hap" and has no pictures.
I thought we couldn't post from The Onion anymore?
Take me now God, this country ain't no good to live in anymore.
Racism against monkeys?? Wouldn't that be the new PC word coined as "specieism"?
I bet they wouldn't think if was racist if they just changed the monkey's name to "Dubya".
Now they can call him Hip-Hap. ;>)
I'm afraid the blacks are perpetuating the "monkey" thing by this kind of hassle. The only time I come across that old hoary one these days is in these PC uproars.
It is the school administrators who are racists.
I live near St. Louis.(3rd most dangerous city in the US and went 81% Democrat). This doesn't surprise me a bit since it was us that voted a dead man to fill a US senate seat in the 2000 election!
YGTBSM!!!!
