Yes, they are. Remember a year or so ago there was a terrible fire in a girl's school in Saudi Arabia and the local mullah would not allow firemen and other rescuers into the dormitories because they were men and there were girls in there. He even sent girls who had run out back in there to their deaths to put covers over their heads. I remember the police did ultimately temporarily cart him off but we know nothing happened to him. Many girls burned to death in that tragedy. I'll remember that forever.
