Dr. Zahid Mukhtar, spokesperson for Islamic Council in Norway, stated that he sympathize with the reason why the Dutch film director Theo van Gogh was murdered.
Mukhtar made the statement at the Norwegian debate program Holmgang Wednesday. Program leader Oddvar Stenstrøm asked if he understood that some Muslims could become so provoked that they killed, answered Mukhtar, «I understand that, even if there is no statutory authorization to do so.»
Jens Stoltenberg, leader of the Labor Party, demands that Mukhtar retracts his statements.
«I want to ask Muslim leaders in Norway in the most urgent manner to clearly and unmistakable condemn such violent acts as the murder of van Gogh,» Stoltenberg said to the Norwegian daily Aftenposten.
Stoltenberg stressed that Mukhtar’s statements to a large degree injures Muslims in Norway and the work for increasing tolerance.
Erna Solberg, minister of local government, did not participate in the program, but stated to Aftenposten that it is important to stress that no one in Norway must show understanding for the murder of people like van Gogh.
«It is one thing to understand what has happened. It is something entirely different to have understanding for the action,» Solberg said.
«Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Have mercy,» the 47-year-old film director Theo van Gogh reportedly called out before he was shot eight or nine times on an open street in Amsterdam.
van Gogh had received death threats before because he through his work criticized and made fun of Islam.
A 26-year-old known Muslim fundamentalist was last week arrested for the murder.

An asylum seeker gambled away NOK 50,000 in a slot machine in a few hours. Later he returned with a knife and tried to steal the machine.
The 27-year-old asylum seeker from Iraq was arrested Monday after threatening a shop owner with a knife. He had demanded the money he poured into the machine two months ago, or else the whole machine.
The proprietor managed to escape out the back door and into the neighboring post office until police arrived and cuffed the frustrated gambler.
When the 27-year-old lost his money on Sep. 19 his bad-tempered threats convinced the frightened kiosk owner to have the machine emptied the same evening.
Later that night three short masked men armed with knives and handguns entered the kiosk at closing time, handcuffed the owner's father and broke into the bill compartment on the machine the Iraqi asylum seeker had used. Coins and five other machines were left untouched, though they also stole the kiosk's take for the day.
Police are now investigating possible links between the lost money, the break in and the hold-up on Monday. The asylum seeker was released on Monday night but was ordered not to go near the kiosk.

The reason why you heard first about muslim terror in Holland (except for Spain, Madrid bombings) has two words : Pim Fortuyn.
In Holland Pim Fortuyn went from 0 to 33% in one year, after having gathered the most votes in the Rotterdam elections.
One of the reasons was that he was the first candidate that challenged the western pro-muslim immigration and anti-Israel agenda.
They murdered Pim Fortuyn, five days before he would participate for the first time in the national elections.
Two and a half years later they are so afraid of Pim Fortuyn, that directing a film about him (Theo Van Gogh) is enough to be sentenced to death.
In the case of Pim Fortuyn a "green activist in defense of animal rights" was used to cover-up the murder.
In the case of Van Gogh they don't have to use this kind of fantasy : the muslim suspect is just a good reason to increase (yes, that still is possible ...) the dosage of "Islam is the religion of peace" in the media and provide protection to mosques 24 hours a day with police.

I certainly understand how we could become so provoked that Mecca and Medina become radioactive glass parking lots. TROP continues to play with fire...going to get seriously burned one of these days.
We wait and wait for Muslims to denounce murder but their answer is pretty much always the same...
It's always someone else's fault... They shouldn't had said this or done that...

The Islamists are deathly afraid of being attacked by the media and the movies.
Some brave souls must step forward and do Michael Moore type movies and documentaries showing Islamists for the cowardly butchers they truly are. Just DVDs like the Swifties put forward would do.
They interviewed him on NPR this morning, He sounded firm and fairly reasonable, wanted to deport any and all criminals and enemies of democracy. Also talked a bit about restricting immigration, but quickly turned that into support for socialism, giving jobs to Muslims already in the Netherlands, free education, etc.
His thinking apparantly (besides being steeped in socialism) is that integration, assimilation and social programs will prevent radicalism. But my view is that the emptiness of cradle-to-grave socialist life will just give them 5 or 6 weeks vacation plus religious holidays to study jihad.
Norway, the land of the Oslo Treaty, and the Dutch, home of the Sharon trials are being served a heaping helping of the Islamic Jihad that they helped create. Justice is a dish best served cold, and God has a quite a sense of Justice.
