The Invasion of Europe
Tolerance is easy when everybody is the same because there is nothing to tolerate. This is a lesson Europe is learning the hard way as it is overrun with waves of Muslim immigrants that have no common cultural ground with Europeans.
Since the beginning of our history we (americans) have had to deal with large influxes of people from different cultural groups, from Italians to Irishmen to Germans and most recently Latin Americans. In each case, we’ve had some simple ground rules: (1) you can bring your food, as long as you let us turn it into fast food; (2) you must learn our language, although you can add a few exotic words from your own; and (3) you must assimilate into our culture, which means you’ll laugh at the character added to South Park parodying your culture. Up until now, this plan has worked remarkably well in the United States.
To see the importance of cultural assimilation, one must only do a brief survey of conflicts around the world. In Kosovo, it is the ethnic Albanian Muslims and the Serbians. In Darfur, it is the Fur farming people and the ruling-class Sudanese Muslims. In India, it was the Hindu Indians and the Muslim now-Pakistanis. One could compose an enormous list of such conflicts, each one fueled by a nation divided between two cultures who could not live peacefully together.
Europeans have long lived in a homogenous societies and are not used to dealing with these problems. Yet, some Europeans see the danger and are not taking this influx lying down. Geert Wilders, a Dutch Politician, has spoken out against the massive wave of people who are in his eyes turning the Netherlands into a strikingly non-Dutch place. The cost to Wilders: he lives like a fugitive. Islamic extremists have targeted him for death and he must take extreme security measures to stay alive. Islamic extremists recently killed Dutch director Theo van Gogh for a film that criticized Muslim treatment of women.
As I think we shall soon see, this is only the beginning for Europe. Despite the efforts of a few politicians, the immigration will continue. At least 15 percent of Sweden’s population is composed of immigrants, many who are poor and live in almost complete isolation from Swedish culture. And Sweden’s generous welfare programs will continue to make Sweden an attractive destination. Sweden is proud of its multicultural diversity; as crime rates skyrocket and Swedish culture slips away, look for them to be singing a different tune in the future.
The ultimate irony here is that many in Europe does not see the connection between our efforts in Iraq and the flood of “refugees” that are entering Europe. When NATO decided to attack Serbia without UN approval, it was done with the rationale that NATO was defending Europe from the possible flood of refugees that would destabilize Europe if Serbia’s ethnic cleansing was allowed to continue. Virtually the same rationale could be applied to our efforts in Iraq. The only long term solution to Europe’s problem is to democratize the Middle east so that it is a good place for people to live. Bringing democracy to Iraq is the first step in that direction.
I lived in Europe, I have relatives in Europe and it is absolutely true that Europeans are a lot more racist than Americans. Which means big trouble. Soon.
I heartily recommend reading Natan Scharansky's new book, as this concept is found throughout. I have been quoting my favorite passage from the book regularly, as I think it illustrates one of the main Leftist problems in recognizing our situation.
Standing on a street-corner in Trondhiem, Norway I was shocked how Norwegians treated a native Lapp in native costume waiting for a light to change. The sneers, rolling eyeballs secret little patronizing smiles,pretending they were invisible. I WAS AMAZED. They were absolute bigots toward them. I couldn't believe how they were denagrated at table conversation. Absolute hypocrites.
Europe--so full of hatred toward the US, and so full of love toward the Muslims.

And you think the European Union is having trouble now? The **** won't really start hitting the fan for 4-8 years...maybe by then the Muslims will have a functioning democracy they can call their own...not a moment too soon for all the immigrant-haters there, as if it will make any difference in their slowly dieing cultural landscape.

Interesting. I think they become national socialists. They've already got the socialist part down, and a race-based backlash would manifest itself in extreme nationalism. Hello rebirth of the Nazi's. Where was Hitler buried again?
Note that 1 million refugees returned to Afghanistan after we liberated it. After the Iraquis go home, do you suppose the Europeans will have children?
