Murdering CARE
CFP ^ | November 22, 2004 | Alan Caruba

What kind of justification can they give for murdering Margaret Hassan, the Iraqi director of CARE International, a humanitarian group providing aid? The terrorist’s demand was that the British troops leave Iraq in 48 hours. If they did this, they said, she would be turned over to Base of Jihad, a group affiliated with al Qaeda. But you and I know they never intended to do anything else than kill her.

Hassan was born in Ireland and had a dual citizenship with Britain and Iraq. She had lived in Iraq for 30 years and was married to an Iraqi, Tahsin Hassan. She devoted her life to helping the poor, particularly children. What kind of justification is there in the murder of such a woman, representing such a cause?

There is none. There can be none. It is one more example of the pure evil represented by the Third Great Jihad being waged by countless Islamic groups. Thus far, according to Reuters, more than 30 foreign hostages have been killed in Iraq. Not combatants, not soldiers, just those unfortunate enough to represent nations that have sent their troops to liberate Iraq or who found work there in order to send money home to their families. . . . .

Best theory I've heard was here. That Margret Hassan, having worked in Iraq for 30 years in the aid field knew all about the oil for food scam and was hushed up, the impression that it was an islamist kidnapping was just an entirely believeable cover.

This article and Jonah Goldberg's current piece work together nicely:

The Terrorists kill Dutch film-makers because they are Libertarian atheists.
The Terrorists want to kill Americans because we are Christians.
The Terrorists wanted to kill Margaret Hassan because she was a humanitarian who wanted to help poor Iraqis.

Conclusion: The terrorists are murderous thugs who are on a quest to kill everyone on the planet who is not helping in their quest to kill everyone who is not helping them in their quest.

But what could Kofi and his Islamic terrorist friends do?
It's not like there was a black box which Emperor-of-Terrorists Kofi could hide in his UN office.

What kind of justification can they give for NEVER TALKING about the MURDER of Margaret Hassan, the Iraqi director of CARE International, a humanitarian group providing aid? On any news outlet the Middle East would hear. Never once condemned our showed the Tape of her ghastly murder on Al Jazeera. Makes you want to say HMMM!

Another opportunity to use my favorite passage from Scharansky's new book.

"Over the years, I have come to understand a critical difference between the world of fear and the world of freedom. In the former, the primary challenge is finding the inner strength to confront evil. In the latter, the primary challenge is finding the moral clarity to see evil."

There are those who have tried to blame this event (totally or partially) on the U.S.A. They lack moral clarity.

I wouldn't give them the credit for being competent enough, but some of their erstwhile Baathist cronies, yes.

Well, that's an interesting theory. However, I think they were just dumbasses who wanted to kill a good person for no other reason than to just kill her. As for the UN mess with oil-for-food, I think our congressional reps. investigating in the house and senate are due to drop a BIG bomb on Koffi and his minions very shortly. One can hope.

Maybe my tinfoil is a bit tight.

I would like to see Kofi and the UN reduced to the obscurity they deserve.

Juxtapose CARE and the jihadis vs. CAIR and the American people.
