The product doesn't get any better, but the prices continue going up. As long as people are willing to pay for losers, the Cubs will merrily roll along.

Looks like it will be standing room only at Miller Park again this year for the Cub refugees! :)

Yup, that's the free market.

As long as people will stand in line for those seats the owners would be stupid to not raise the price of admission.

Looks like I will have to keep going to Comiskey (I will never call it that other name) when I go spend the day or weekend in Chicago.

I've completely sworn off of every attending another professional game of any sort. I've long since had it with the whiney rich boys who lack in self-control. They may be good at what they do, but I refuse to support their pugilistic, promiscuous, and petulant ways.

Like Cohiba cigars and Bushmills whiskey major league baseball tickets are not one of life's little necessities. I'm a firm believer in the free market and if the owners feel they can get more for their product more power to them.
However, I don't want one red cent of taxpayer money used to finance "more modern facilities". A number of major American cities are still paying on multimillion dollar bond issues for stadiums that were long ago hauled to the rubble heap. The Kingdome in Seattle, and Three Rivers come to mind most quickly. If a major league team threatens to leave town because the citizens won't pay for their new facility I'll be more than happy to show them the door.
Think of those increased ticket prices as a "user fee" to finance those new stadiums the billionaire owners, and millionaire players just can't get built any other way !!!

It's a scandal. The Cubs have their own affiliated scalper company, and so they withhold tickets from the box office and sell them "off-line" at higher prices. This also decreases supply so that they can raise the box office prices as well.

do you think that the Trib Co. will try something stupid again, like hanging all of that green screen behind the bleachers to obstruct the view from the rooftops when the owners of those buildings wouldn't pay "tribute" to the tribune?
