One of the four ESPN guys in the original coverage stated later that night that Artest was justified in attacking the fan! Artest attacked the wrong fan.
The guy in the cap threw the beer. He also was the same guy who punched him in the head later.

I noticed the same thing. He really couldn't tell who he was going after- he was pissed and he want after SOMEONE. That alone is inexcusable. There is NO justification in that. And "defending youself" from a thrown beer" is hunting a person down and pummeling hime in the face?
Sad day for the children that had to witness this. I hope Bill Cosby goes after these guys!

I'm beginning to believe that former interim Knicks GM Ed Tapscott knew what he was doing when drafted a French stiff who has yet to actually play in an NBA game -- Frederic Weis (known in some parts of the NY media as Fifi) -- instead of Artest.
