Marine sentenced to life in prison for murder plot
By: Associated Press
SAN DIEGO -- A Marine was sentenced to life in federal prison Tuesday for trying to murder the husband of his mistress while the two men were stationed in Kuwait.
Chief Warrant Officer Larry A. Framness will be eligible for parole in 25 years, said Maj. Curtis Hill, a spokesman at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station, where the court-martial was held. Col. Robert Chester, the military judge, ordered Framness dismissed from the Marines.
Framness, 36, pleaded guilty Monday to attempted murder, making false statements, dereliction of duty and adultery in the May 14 attack on Chief Warrant Officer James Glass, who suffered shrapnel wounds to his neck, back and legs in a grenade attack.
Military officials said Framness lured Glass into a small guard shack in Kuwait and then tossed the grenade at him. The explosion was supposed to look like a terrorist attack.
Framness met Glass while they were assigned to the Marine Wing Support Squadron 371, based in Yuma, Ariz. He later met Wendy Glass and the two began an 18-month affair before plotting to kill James Glass in October 2002.
Military prosecutors argued that Framness and Wendy Glass expected to collect $350,000 in life insurance.
Wendy Glass testified last year that she and Framness initially planned to kill James Glass in November 2002 by getting him drunk and hoping he would drive his car off a cliff during a weekend cabin trip in California. She said she had wanted to end her 14-year marriage but her husband would never agree to a divorce.
Two things my pappy told me come to mind:
1. Sometimes the screwing you get, ain't worth the screwing you get.
2. A man can pay for sex, a man can get sex for free. Usually, the sex you don't pay for costs a lot more...
Wendy Glass, 34, received 10 months shy of the maximum penalty from federal judge Stephen McNamee in U.S. District Court in Phoenix as part of a plea bargain with federal prosecutors. She had pleaded guilty in June to a murder conspiracy charge and agreed to cooperate with authorities.
I heard about this on the radio, KFYI (here in AZ), apparently the husband forgives them both.....WOW.
MAN! This hits close to home!
Well...at least he got jail time. King David got less...or did he? Lets see, the death of his first son, civil unrest the rest of his life, his wives having nookie in plain site with his sons.
All this for a woman.
I tell you young fellers!...RUN OR THEY'LL GET YOU!
It don't take much of a woman, to ruin a good man.
Where does it say he was a good man? And don't forget .. HE married her. I would have to say it was a great lapse in judgement on his part. Obviously he should have just given her the divorce.
This doesn't alter the fact that what she did was despicable.
It's just something my Mom used to tell me. I had some interesting girlfriends.
Dare we ask why?
and vice versa
Let me put it this way: Indiana Jones woulda been proud of my escape.
