The Osama bin Laden video tape was big news in the final days of the campaign, and this news event was spun by the media so as not to benefit Bush. A Washington Post story by Dana Priest and Walter Pincus said that bin Laden had "injected himself into the final days of the U.S. presidential campaign, warning that American voters will be held accountable for electing any president who seeks to destroy al Qaeda and persecutes Muslims." But near the end of the article, if you read that far, the authors cited evidence that bin Laden was on the defensive, and that Bush's policies in Afghanistan and Iraq had put him there. Clearly, bin Laden wanted Bush's defeat.
They quoted Juan Cole, a specialist in Middle Eastern affairs at the University of Michigan, as saying that bin Laden is probably "annoyed that Bush has portrayed him as an enemy of freedom."

The whole point of that ridiculous tape was to be able to say to the Muslim world that he scared America into electing Kerry. Since he couldn't pull off another attack like he did in Spain, this was the best he could do. He came off weak and silly. Not unlike Kerry come to think of it.
We don't forget...EVER!
We don't forget...EVER!
Funny thing about the USA, this country doesn't have any knees to fall on!!!!
The liberal media and the DNC (led by McAwful) did spin it shamelessly in favor of Kerry. But now, Kerry is saying it was that tape ,not moral values ,that won Pres. Bush the election.
>>>Kerry is saying it was that tape ,not moral values ,that won Pres. Bush the election.
<<,p>
What won the election for Bush was the fact that Kerry has been (and still is} a fraud since at least 1970 and the Swift Boat Vets proved that beyond any reasonable doubt.
Just like his campaign, he can't stick to one story.

Love this comment! You're right. He'll continue to spin various reasons for his loss until - let's HOPE! - the good folks in MA. show him the door on his next bid for re-election! Thanks for your comment, good buddy!
