About Santa's Castle Santa's Castle is a private, non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers and supported solely by donations. They have been serving the FT. Benning community since 1986. Their goal is to provide toys for the children of Ft. Benning soldiers who, because of financial difficulties, would otherwise not have toys for Christmas.

Anyone interested in making a donation, or for further information can reach Santa's Castle at (706) 685-4422 or P.O. Box 51951, Fort Benning, GA 31905.

Thank God for Ft. Benning...they produce the finest infantrymen in the world.

My son hated it many days...and has never regretted going there for a moment:) I, being a civilian, had an Aha moment one day while talking with him. He listed a litany of complaints (typical soldier fare) about the DS..the base, the food, on and on. After listening I was alarmed and asked if he was sorry he'd decided to enlist. He sounded shocked- and said "Hell NO, Ma, I LOVE the Army"...

I live in Columbus and work on Ft. Benning. This celebration began as a counter to the School of the Americas protestors that come out every year. SOA Watch is having their big annual protest this weekend, so supporters of the military in general and Ft. Benning in particular will have the God Bless Ft. Benning thing.

All in all, it's a big pain in the *ss for those of us that were planning on working this weekend. The long haired, pot smoking, peace loving, sock and sandal wearing, tie-dye making hippie freaks are already showing up.
