BTW - I saw Operation Crayon being featured on the news recently. Yahoo!
Back to the Methadone Clinic - what a horrible development. The neighbors found out about it in a round-about way. Nobody bothered to tell them a bloomin' thing. There were some PO'd folks there last night and Brad Castillo hasn't heard the last of it. I can promise you that.
So I take it this is a residential neighborhood? That seems so strange to me. In my town both methadone clinics are downtown, with no residences to speak of nearby (one of them is sort of close to one of the 'projects' .. which seems appropriate, I guess). Why would they even consider putting one in a residential neighborhood?
And ironically enough, I was adminstering Methadone to an end stage cancer patient last night, as the belief is it enhances the effects of the other pain meds. I realize these type of patients are not the ones concerning the citizens.
I too am sorry about your step-son, I didn't know.
I don't support methadone clinics because it is substituting one very toxic addiction for another. I would rather see society set up tent cities in VERY remote places and just give addicts free drugs and free food and let them die in peace and leave the rest of us alone.
