World's Smartest Woman Denies She is on the Dole in Bulgaria

Lifestyle: 14 November 2004, Sunday.

The Bulgarian woman, who made headlines after being pronounced the world's cleverest by the country's Mensa office, denied reports she has spent two years without a job in Bulgaria.

Daniela Simidchieva, a qualified industrial engineer with a mind-boggling IQ of 200 and five masters degrees, said she was looking for a job to correspond with her qualification and skills.

The reports are not true and could discredit me, Daniela told local Trud Daily, commenting reports that she is struggling to find gainful employment, "even as a cleaning woman".

Following the media reports Daniela received job offers by a Sofia newspaper, investment and real estate companies but she turned them all down.

The woman, a mother of three children, admits her jobs have always been low-paid, but is now in the process of talks with a marketing and analysis company.

There are 1388 Bulgarians who have passed with flying colours the tests of Mensa, the organization established to identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity.

IQ tests were first conducted in Bulgaria in 1991.

Huh! I thought Marilyn Vos Savant was the smartest woman in the world. Maybe this lady could get a syndicated column too.

Perhaps she should remove the part about being the 'smartest woman in the world' from her resume. A spell check might help, along with a 'people person' attitude.

I call her Marilyn Idiot Savant. Fine when sorting out complex math and other brain teasers, regurgitates the usual liberal lines when questioned about any substantive issue. I don't know why people ask her about matters of opinion, anyway.

I don't think Vos Savant has been the smartest woman for several years.

Her column is actually quite boorish and unimaginative. I wouldn't mind somebody else taking the reins for a while.

"Is an IQ of 200 matched by IQ of zero?"

Yasser Arafat's intellect is now available.

Evidently he's down there with a cleaning woman. Maybe he and Liddy need a maid. But wait, wasn't Liddy involved in the Watergate fiasco?? Is Bob Dole gay????

LOL

I took the Mensa IQ test when I was 14 years old, at my parents' urging.

I scored 160 when I was in 9th grade.

I attended a couple of meetings, then told my parents I didn't want to go any more because I felt uncomfortable being the youngest person there and "these old men were asking me out on dates."

EEEEWWWWWWW!

I ended up marrying a guy my own age (one year older than me) I met in a completely different venue, who took the "Mensa" test years later "just for laughs" and scored 162.

That made his day. Those two extra points were more important than any extra millimeters on his p****.
