and how many actual non-RINO Conservative GOP females do we have in the Senate ?).

Roughly 0, give or take a half here or there.

Does Liddy Dole count?

Anyway, the best RAT candidate to run would be Tanner. He is a liberal who is able to fool gullible Yellow Dogs into thinking he is a Zell Miller RAT.

Tanner is a jerk, plus a bit past his prime for eyeing anything higher (the time for him was in '92-'96). His bitterness at having been in the minority for 10 years is palpable and he has taken cheap shots at the President (more infamy for Tanner, it was apparently he who was on the other end of the phone during one of Clinton 'n Monica's late night blow trysts).

"Bryant got screwed in '02, but I also like younger and more hard-charging individuals, for which Ms. Blackburn fits the bill (and how many actual non-RINO Conservative GOP females do we have in the Senate ?)."

I like Blackburn too, but I would rather have her wait a bit before running statewide. Bryant would make an outstanding Senator in his own right, and Blackburn is young enough that she can afford to build up her résumé before running statewide in 2010 or 2012.

The only pro-life Republican female in the Senate is Liddy Dole, and she is quite RINOish on several issues. But we are building up a very good farm team of pro-life conservative Congresswomen who would make great Senate candidates when an opportunity arises: Along with Blackburn, we have Melissa Hart from Western PA; Katherine Harris of Saratoga, FL; Anne Northup of Louisville, KY; Sue Myrick of Charlotte, NC (one of my sleepers for the 2008 VP slot if the Presidential candidate is from the North); Candice Miller from Macomb County, MI; Heather Wilson from Albuquerque, NM; Jo Ann Davis and now Thelma Drake from VA; Cathy McMorris from Spokane, WA; Marylin Musgrave from CO; Jo Ann Emerson from MO; and Barbara Cubin from WY.

What about Kay Bailey Hutchison?

She supports most of the restrictions on abortion (parental notification, PBA ban, etc I'm guessing) but also supports Roe v Wade -- ie she favors legal abortion UNLESS or EXCEPT this that or the other thing.

Eh, abortion doesn't play a big role in their ratings, and when it does it'll usually be the restrictions (PBA, etc) that Hutchison does support.

Zach Wamp would have been a perfect choice because he is a solid conservative. It would have also gotten him out of his promise not to serve more than 12 years in the House. I don't know how he will handle that next election. The Senate run was suppose to be his, but then that worm, Corker, showed up on the scene. Corker is a major RINO. He would be totally worthless. You might as well elect a Democrat. Corker is visiting churches again trying to convince the conservatives that he is one of "us." Don't buy the lie.

I say "Good Riddance"! He just let the American people down again by voting to remove Dr. Ron Paul's language from the omnibus spending bill to prohibit any funding for the MANDATORY "mental health screening" of ALL children!! Even Dr. Paul stated in his column that he felt Frist did this due to pressure from the DRUG companies which are NOT who he is supposed to be in Washington representing!
