I think it was the dems. that were sending a rascist message. Kerry surrounded himself with elitist white men. His idea of appealling to african-americans is to have a photo op with Al Sharpton, a transparently corrupt person and an unambiguous rascist in his own right. Kerry and the dem. party has nothing but contempt for minorities. The message seemed to be 'vote for us - we'll take the power and throw you a few table scraps.' I don't think the DNC believes in equal representation.
