I saw this too, and I was very angry. At first, I was happy to the Times feature a group of weary, brave men fighting on behalf of freedom for not only their own country, but for another nation, as well. The rest was sure to be short, but well-earned. Then I read the caption, explaining that the soldiers were inside a mosque.
The implication that the Times was trying to draw was clear -- Evil Americans Defile Sacred Mosque, Insulting Muslims!
The Times NEVER runs a picture that big on the front page, unless a 9/11 happens. There is one reason and one reason only why the Times ran that picture in the place and size that they did -- to inflame Muslim hatred towards America.

Not to be too obvious about it, but enflaming muslim anger ought to be our aim. We want the hotheads to show themselves, so we can delete them.
