Actually, if they are only reporting a rise in boxed cereals (as opposed to across the board breads and grains) then it's more an indicator of an economy on the rise.

Every mom knows - when the money slows, the box cereal GOES. It's way too expensive to pay four dollars for a small box of cereal, when you can pay two dollars for a big bag...

That's the truth. Those big bags help out our budget :) We are a single income family (I homeschool and have parental caregiver responsibilities) and luckily there is really no difference in taste to my five year old and hubby:D

This mom never bought cereal, regardless of the economy. My kids were much happier with oatmeal, scrambled eggs wrapped in a flour tortilla, leftover pizza.
