Great choice but this may take him out of the running for the USSC seat when/if Thomas or Scalia are promoted to Chief Justice of the United States.

A question to anybody does the Senate need to aapprove a sitting SC Justices elevation to Chief Justice?
Itll be an entertaining what ever happened to
moment when the Dems dust off Anita Hill, hopefully with the same end result.

I think it might just help his chances. If he gets confirmed as AG, would it not make a better case for him to be moved to SCOTUS?

I think they may have given him a choice. That must be some decision. Either way he has to go through the Congressional vetting process, I think. But for AG he doesn't have to wait. I don't think this shuts him out on an SC opening but it would make it more difficult.

I believe that he's pro-choice. If so, better AG than SC...

Janice Brown will be Bush's first choice for the SCOTUS. She's on the CA SC and is pretty conservative if what I've read is correct. African American woman also. Filibuster her. I know the RATS will try it.
