A better way to elect a president
Published November 7, 2004
American elections all have one basic thing in common: The people cast their ballots, and the candidate getting the most votes wins. That practice holds in just about every race, from the U.S. Senate down to local school boards. There is, however, one notable exception: the presidency. It's an exception that may have made sense 215 years ago, when the Constitution was ratified, but it's one that has outlived its time....

Every time the Rats lose, they bring up the Electoral College.
Waaaaaah.
Yep...
Bush won the popular vote too..So..their point is ?
"It's an exception that may have made sense 215 years ago, when the Constitution was ratified, but it's one that has outlived its time...."
Democrat motto "If you can't win using the Constitution, CHANGE IT!"
They are saying that if Kerry had won Ohio it would have happened again...
The m.o. of the left is to silence any opposition (the heartland) this is just one more attempt.
It will never happen, and those who suggest it prove that they don't have a clue.
Sure Is...
They do not have a prayer of voting out the electoral college. It is to keep a balance in the country...
Fat chance that people in the red states will sit by and let this happen.
Chicago lecturing the rest of the country on how to go about having an election. Now that's rich.
Push the blue scum into the ocean
Some states are trying to divide the vote depending on the number or popular votes a candidate gets.
It is a subtle and dangerous way to change our country from a Republic to a Democracy.
The trend must be reversed.
People who advocate this sort of radical change should be monitored and watched as much as the gun grabbing mouthpieces and organizations. They are dangerous to our freedoms.
Humble in victory..gracious in defeat..but I GLOAT..for just one more time.
This is the only way we'll ever reform the massive treasury draining farm welfare programs that are dragging down our economy and pricing dairy products and cereals out of the reach of many.
The war will begin when these scumbags attempt to do away with the extremely neccessary Electoral College. It is as vital and neccessary today as the day it was formed.
If you look at the recent post "Best Election County vote map yet", you will see why the Constitution is right. Those huge population spikes in places like Chicago, NY LA, etc. mean that a few huge cities (normally union) could run the country.
