11/6/04 Time for US to come to terms with 'humiliation' in Iran - Brzezinski London, Nov. 6, IRNA -- Former National Security Adviser to the Carter Administration, Zbigniew Brzezinski, suggested Saturday that the US should finally comes to terms with the takeover of the American Embassy in Iran after 25 years. It is time to start closing that chapter of "humilitation" that Americans felt so strongly about instead of remaining haunted by the memories, Brzezinski said.

In an interview with the Financial Times, he believed that there must eventually be "some accommodation" and that the west may even have to learn to live with Iran as a nuclear power as it did with China and later with India and Pakistan.

The aide, who served President Jimmy Carter during the takeover of the US Embassy following the Islamic Revolution in Iran, was questioned on the differences between the US and the European Union approach to Iran's nuclear program.

He said that he feared a second Bush administration will "be very much inclined to use force" to deal with what it sees as a threat posed by Iran hostile to the US and Israel.

Actually, I think it's the ayatollahs who should come around. They still use the term "Great Satan" to demonize an entire country. They deserve the "Axis of Evil" sobriquet. Of course all those hysterical liberals who are screaming about a supposed Christian "theocracy" in this country couldn't care less about the havoc wrought on a people by a true theocracy like the Iranian government.

This ass was NSA when I left the Army and got my Political Science degree, and I had to read his ramblings for three years. He was nuts then, and it's gotten worse.

Now we know why Islam is a world wide threat.

The Nixon-Carter-Reagan-Bush-Clinton years of appeasement and vascillation in he face of Arabia have now ushered in WW4.

"I prefer to think the Bush administration is not determined to make a habit of shooting itself in the foot. Hopefully it learned from the miscalculations of its Iraq policy," he said.

Like the dims learned from the absolute ineptitude of their Iran policy?? Yeah, right.

Is this idiot a cheerleader for Iran? Iran is going to meet Iraq's fate, but this time we are not sure what they got going on in the nuke dept. So it wouldn't be smart for them to make us think they have nukes before we invade them, or that country might turn into a pretty shade of radioactive green.

This "humilation" is in large part Brzezinski's fault for maintaining (during his years as National Security Advisor for Jimmah) that a fundamentalist Iran would be a far superior bulwark against Soviet expansionism that the Shah's Iran, and working hard to make it happen.

Humiliated? I think, given the Iranians' complicity in terrorist attacks on our civilians and military since 1979, that the embassy siezing is ancient history. Iran has been engaged in an unremitting terror war against us for over 20 years. That's what has Americans worked up, Mr. Secretary.

We wouldn't have been "humiliated" if it hadn't been for the Carter administration. During his time period and beyond we didn't do enough to stop those lunatics and then we paid for their stupidity on Sep 11, 2001. Never again!

Uhhh.... A bunch of militant thigs ambushed an unguarded embassy. There's no humiliation, just disgust at how these Muslims are so closely alligned with primates in terms of morality.

WHAT A DEFEATIST!!

We are NOT going to "get used to" any country that shouldn't have nuclear weapons, much less a country of militant fanatics. Get that straight, buddy.

Second of all, the only "coming to terms" that needs to be made is by you and your fellow administration.

And to think I used to have such respect for this man. And then I actually read what he's said and woke up.

BUM!!
