Bush Victory a Resounding Public Assertion of Traditional Moral Values

WASHINGTON, November 4, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - George Bush's victory is being lauded as the victory of traditional morality over the popular liberal relativism espoused equally by John Kerry and the New York Times. Exit polls are showing that significant percentages of voters cited 'moral values,'- at 22% - as the most important issue upon which to vote. The issue garnering the most media attention, the war in Iraq, came last at 15% in a survey by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky.

The campaign was fraught with controversy over the three key issues of interest to pro-lifers, abortion, stem cell research and homosexuality, with diametrically opposed positions on each of these espoused by the two candidates. For perhaps the first time in US history, the line between traditional moral certitudes and 'postmodern' moral relativism was nakedly apparent even to the liberally disposed mainstream media.

The New York Times, the acknowledged leader in the liberal mainstream press who supported Kerry, was forced to admit that it was the average American's opposition to the new a-moral agenda that decided the election in Bush's favour. The Times editorial on November 3rd said, "The polls from yesterday's voting showed clearly how Mr. Bush and the Republicans succeeded, and where John Kerry and the Democrats failed."

The Times was forced to admit that the liberal a-morality of Kerry was the deciding factor. "The number of voters who said their choice was driven primarily by moral values and the vast majority of them cast their ballots for Mr. Bush eclipsed those Americans who said they were primarily concerned about the war, terrorism and even the economy and jobs."

Voters' traditional moral stand was starkly illustrated in the resounding defeat of the homosexual 'marriage' engine in all 11 states in which it was proposed as a ballot measure. Pro-family activists have been saying all along that homosexual 'marriage' is a notion that is supported only by a vocal leftist elite and an activist judiciary.

Bush's campaign speeches repeatedly reiterated his commitment to traditional moral values including embracing the 'culture of life' and protecting traditional marriage. In a press conference today Bush noted that he would move ahead on those agenda items he spoke of during the campaign. "I feel it is necessary to move an agenda that I told the American people I would move," he said.

I wonder if the half that didn't vote for Bush will take a long hard look inward and see what is lacking in their own lives. I don't see the media portraying this downward spiral of morality in this culture as a problem rather than crucifying morality as being a right-wing agenda.

40% of Americans will vote Democrat even if they put up Mickey Mouse. I run into these people all the time in Pittsburgh PA. They're diehard union, traditional Catholic, often ethnic (Slavic), working class, and they're voting like their parents and grandparents did.

"Resounding victory." That sounds about right.

It's time to reassess the value of RINO candidates.

Yes, this is a fact.

The road ahead for us to follow is to keep the South and Midwest locked up for us, and expanding our territory. This will deny the liberals enough power in government that we can neutralize them until they get tired of losing. Then the Dems may go back to more consevative roots.

Unfortunately there are still those who are dumbed down by the "values" spoon-fed to them by the media and Hollywood elite. Fortunately, the dummies didn't decide the election this time.

And, like, raising a puppie to a good strong dog.

This was Barney's outfit on Nov 2. Only a man who is man enough to love a dog like this 'gets' moral values.... Oh, let's not forget it's his 27th Wedding Anniversary w/ Laura. And yesterday, he gave her, for her birthday, a new scottie puppie named Miss Beazley.

This is what happens when those of conscience get out and vote with that in mind. I hope and pray we never again go back to the old way of ignoring the moral issues our candidates espouse.

This has even become the mantra of despairing liberals. "Gee, I guess we have to find faith and moral values to connect with the American people." [IRONIC]
