A record number of Britons left the country for a life abroad last year, according to figures published yesterday.

The Office for National Statistics said 191,000 British citizens were among 362,000 long-term residents who left the country to live elsewhere.

About 513,000 people arrived from abroad to stay for more than a year - a net immigration total of 151,000, roughly the same as in 2002. Of the arrivals, 236,000 were non-British, compared with 107,000 in 1997 when Labour took office. The rest were Britons coming home.

An estimated 14,200 more EU citizens migrated to the UK than left. The figures show that net immigration is at historically high levels.

Sir Andrew Gree, chairman of Migrationwatch UK, said the Government was taking no account "of the wishes of the British people".

How many of these are of Asian origin go back to India and Pakistan to retire, how many of these are of West Indian origin going back to the West Indies to retire.

Many who have worked here go back to there respective countries where there pensions and money saved while working here will give them a very good standard of living.

Hmmm

Cheers Tony

Lot's of them coming to America, never seen so many Brits in Florida as there are now. Kinda irks you when you hear all the anti America drivel spewing from over there but most Brits I've met have been nice folks.

It is shameful what the Socialists have wrought upon the British people. They have essentially invited the Islamic scourge to take root in Britain. Soon they will all be leaving. What idiots.

We must all begin to think about cleansing them from our own nation....NOW!

I read somewhere about a poll having been taken in the UK that asked people if they would rather live in another country if they could , and if memory serves about 60% said YES !
