Now that things are quieting down, I'd like to talk about what happened here on election day.
A wave of panic hit in the early afternoon. Panic over unnamed exit returns posted on Drudge- of all things. It spread to a lot of threads. It got so bad that some wise soul posted an official "panic thread". People were making deep emotional statements to others to quiet some down. I expected someone to start calling out "medic".
It did not affect me in the least, but it was very annoying. Annoying because it made finding information more difficult. It disturbed the emotion of the board. And I expected us to be tougher than that. If you gave the news half a good thought, it wasn't that powerful a shot.
Yesterday we were in battle. And in the middle of the battle our lines mildly broke over anonymous media using skewed data to hurt Bush's reelection. I'd like to be around those with more grit when the guns start sounding next time.
More or less agree...some hindsight, but yes.
On a lighter note, how many months until Iowa gets declared for the President? Their Secretary of State is a Democrat I believe...
I wish I could track down some of those Freepers who flamed me because I predicted Bush would win big.
They told me I wasn't dealing in reality.
I can now say... told you so...;)
I went to Polipundit where there were less posters and people were calmer. I almost gave up on FR yesterday with the doom and gloomers. I would love to ping the people that were blaming everyone from Bush to Cheney to Rove. I cannot think of a more brilliant team that the team that Bush has assembled.
Agreed!
I laughed when I heard the early exit polls and gave the msm one last salute for their courage and stalwartness. My dear husband and I voted at 11:00 a.m and I laughed when I yelled for him to stop the car so I could re-root a B/C sign which had become 'mysteriously up-rooted' at our polling place. I laughed a third time as I watched my husband vacuum the kitchen--a very odd sight which I've only witnessed on a few other occasions (one being our daughters' first prom night. He was the most nervous of nellies during the afternoon and let early polls get to him. Again I laughed and told him he was pi$$ing on my mojo. This whole ordeal has been tough on us all and will be tough in times to come......our lives are a series of highs and lows. Meet them with an optimistic heart, a bit of wit and a plentitude of laughter kiddies and we'll all be fine
