They want to continue to be Godless Liberals who despise righteousness but feign comprehension while throwing gullible Christians a few inconsequential bones in order to gain votes.

That's okay. They can be Episcopalians.

Ho-hum, it's the same old same old.

Dem perception: We (Republicans) just did a better job of fooling Joe & Jane Voter than they (democrats) did.

They don't get it, never will.

Wasn't that Kerry's strategy? It didn't work for him. However, he was running against an authentic Christian.

You mean they'll do the same thing with belief that they've done with guns -- fake duck hunts, that kind of stuff, otherwise keep mum about how they really feel?

Kerry tried to "get religon" in the last debate and failed. You can't hide a lifetime of being against Judeo Christian values. Beware of young "progressive" demorats who don't have a well documents history.

Hate to admit it, but it would probably work to some extent. From watching people elect Bill Clinton (twice), I became quite sure that most voters care more about what a politician says than about what he really believes. Most people are just not very good judges of character, and are too gullible. They believe what they want to believe.

a beaut of an example is at post 30 on this thread:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1035144/posts

It was such an awesome diatribe that I kinda' had that stunned look that
Darryl Hammonds gets when he plays Chris Matthews...when a "Hardball" guest
says something so far off the chart that he's pleased and stunned at the same time!
LOL!

It will work. Clinton and Gore claimed to be born-agaim Christians and got up to half of the evangelical vote. Don't know why it wouldn't work again. Why wouldn't John Edwards claim a conversion experience? What other liberals might pull a born-again thing?

They want to continue to be Godless Liberals who despise righteousness but feign comprehension while throwing gullible Christians a few inconsequential bones in order to gain votes...right on the mark - already tonight on local Philly TV some editor from the "Inquirer" newspaper was actually talking about traveling to Ohio because exit polling there showed voters were very interested in "moral values" and he wanted to learn about their views to write about them (interesting that he thinks people in Philly can't tell him about moral values - not after the way they steal elections, apparently)......

The democrat leadership uses religion only when convenient and only when they are desperate.

Remember, Clinton and his huge Bible and religious counseling?

Clinton and Gore and Kerry used Black church going citizens for their own political aspirations.

But, all the democrat/liberal/socialist forces conspire to stop Americans from having religious displays in public squares that we the people pay for with our own hard earned tax dollars.

They collude with the ACLU to strip God from our Pledge of Allegiance, and the TEN Commandments from our schools and courthouses.

No, the democrat leadership is not credible when it comes to displaying religion. They use it as a mask and costume, brought out only for election seasons.

Sounds like they are or are working for the anti-Christ

The angle is that they need to find a way to connect to the American people on Moral issues.

They could try having some morals.

Seems to work.

It will never happen. You are either for or against abortion, there is no choice. You are either for or against gay marriage. You are either for or against prayer. I would be curious to know if John Kerry had daily devotions and spent time daily reading the Word, instead of memorizing verses for a stump speech.

They scare the old with talk of social security going away. They scare blacks with fear of the KKK coming back, and they scare their elite whites with southern "born again Christians. I suspect the part of the exit poll that dealt with religion was as fake as the "Kerry wins" numbers.

As long as the most vocal cheerleaders and fund raisers for the Democrat Party are the hedonistic, immoral Hollywood crowd, Democrats won't convincingly pose as moralistic crusaders.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Matthew 7:15-17

And then there's crazy old me, wishing for the day when Jesus/God is not mentioned by a single politician.
