He's not the president of "states" but of citizens. He boosted his support in every state.

CNN is goinna be changed to a shopping channel if they keep this crap up.

You are correct. Winning states is a constitutional requirement built into the electoral system. However, once that is accomplished the president serves in either a relatively weak position as did President Bush in his first term because he received less of the popular vote than did his opponent; or he serves in a relatively strong position as will President Bush in his second term because he is the first president since 1988 to receive more than fifty percent of the vote, he received approximately 3,500,000 more votes than his opponent, and he received the largest popular vote of any American president since the founding of the republic.
