Election 2004: Connecticut
QwertyKPH

Two votes for W (My wife and myself) in Connecticut. If you're interested, Connecticut presidential election results will be posted on AmericanPatriots.com as they are available.

I would also appreciate any other "Connecticutters" comments. When I voted @0630 the school parking lot was half full, about 40 cars and trucks. I noticed there were no Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers. I counted 4 Bush/Cheny stickers and 11 "Support our Troops" ribbons.

It makes me hopefull!

I've wondered about those Support Our Troops ribbons... are those stealth Bush/Cheney stickers, or are they liberal poseurs?

'Course, we've got the SOT ribbons on both our cars, along with Bush/Cheney stickers. And come to think of it, I don't recall having seen a single car with both a SOT ribbon and a Kedwards sticker...

I voted in Norwich @nooninsh. long lines for one precinct, but fortunately not for mine, and I was able to go right up to the table. four people in front of me. other line snaked around and went outside, perhaps 150 feet or longer. staffer said it was like that all day.

campaigners were just about 100 % dems, but were well behaved and well out of the way.

forget about parking. big turnout like i have not seen in norwich.

Polls don't open here until 6:00 AM I'll be voting after work , go home and watch the kids while the wife goes to vote. We can at least count on two votes for Bush here in Connecticut.

I handed out literature for a state rep. candidate in New Haven for about 2 hours. A few dozen people came by in that time. This area is overwhelmingly Dem, though I saw almost no one with Kerry buttons or stickers. Not that I think Bush will get a lot of votes here. It just looks as if Dems are as unenthusiastic here as they are in the rest of the country.

One moron did show up and tell the Demo guy handing out literature that he couldn't wait to "get Butch out! Once Butch is out, everything will be great." I burst out laughing.

The wait in line was about 10 minutes. This is unusual. In 26 years of voting in that same district I can recall very few times where I didn't go right in and out. So turnout may be up.

Finally, I couldn't wait to say it: I actually voted for Kerry-Edwards before I voted against them! :) I pulled down their lever, then pushed it back up before voting for Bush-Cheney. That felt good.

Ansonia ct. My wife and I both Bush, two min to vote, steady stream of people, what little campaign material around seems to be Bush 5-1, although I do not think it means anything as I think this state is a lock for Kerry.

Ct. may be Democrat but we turn out the best republicans - Ann Coulter, Laura Ingram, and Bill Buckley

Wife and I voted shortly after 6 in Greenwich, not much of a line at our precinct. Shill for Farrell 10 feet in front of the 75 foot sign, signs for both sides. Efficient voting, though the workers were new -- no one I recognized doing the work unlike the last three or four presidential elections. We were asked for ID. When I drove my daughter and a friend by around 8 am there were quite a few cars and people walking in or out. The kids were going to work at another polling place for an election day bake sale, lots of cars and people there at 8 am.

Good one! I'm up here in Nader's home town and I've yet to see one sign or bumper sticker for the loon.
Will report back latter.

Voted in Wethersfield at 10:00. Unfortunately squarely in the 'rats corner but the Mrs. and I did our part.

Interesting side note: there was another registered voter listed at my address. We've gotten junk mail for her before but it's been at least 15 years since she lived in the house, if she lived there at all. I called the local registrar of voters to inform them but all I got was an "I'm busy" voice mail and left a message. Now, CT and my town are firmly blue hell states so I would doubt any shenanigans are going on, but it just goes to show how easy it would be to screw around with the voter roles.

With spouse, 2 Bush votes in Ridgefield. Heavy turnout for 10am. Effective checks for ID as far as I could tell.

Go Bush/Cheney!

It's funny how such a common-sensical(?) thing as an ID check can be considered and reported as voter intimidation by the MSM. But apparently so only if it occurs in urban areas.

I saw lines out to the road at my polling place in Manchester, and that was at 11:30. The wait jumps a half hour every hour after 3:00 pm. So if you can, get there early!

The only way proper ID check for voter qualification can possibly be construed as intimidation is if you're

CHEATING!

I think I appreciate the population of my town most (3000) on election day. I waited 12 seconds ;?)
