Late last week Mrs. Edwards agreed to be a guest for our show Monday night. (Note: we also have an open invitation to Mrs. Cheney and she has been a guest on our show on more than one occasion.) Since Mrs. Edwards is not the candidate, the interview I intended to have with her was not one about policy, but more about the excitement of an election, what her plans are for Election Day, whether (if her husband and Senator Kerry win) she has an idea of what the job is to be married to the vice president, what are her plans if the Dems don't win, etc. This is the same interview I would give Mrs. Cheney if she joined us tonight, too.
Having said that, I got a call late Sunday informing me that it was likely Mrs. Edwards would not appear and that the campaign would cancel tonight's interview. Why? Because of a high school fight between FOX News and the campaign. Apparently something was said by one of my colleagues on the air on Friday and the campaign is now pulling Mrs. Edwards from our show. I am not sure why our show is being "punished" for some other show (our show has yet to be criticized by either party for being unfair in this election) and second, I bet Mrs. Edwards has no idea that low-level staffers are doing this. I met Mrs. Edwards one time (the baggage claim at the airport in Baltimore) and she certainly did not seem like the grudge type... and, even if she did hold grudges, I think she would not go after the wrong target. (Incidentally, yes, I confess, I am capable of holding grudges, too... but, likewise, I hope I hold them against the right target!).

GOOD!
I heard that the real problem was that the campaign could not get her away from an all you can eat buffet.
Fine by me. I didn't want to see the her pie-hole anyway.
Throughout this entire campaign I have been struck by childishness of the Kerry campaign. These supposed professionals led by McAuliffe and Mary Beth Cahill need to grow up.
they said they would have only finger food, she said not enough
Oh, Liz, go have a doughnut.
ROTFLMAO!
I think she is just ashamed of being so fat.
Good, we didn't want to see her fat ugly face on the screen anyway.
must have been chow time
She was afraid she would be asked to explain her quote that
"If we win, there won't be any riots!"
Shucks, and the whizzes of Fox just put the finishing touches on that special hi-tech wide-angle lens especially made for Mrs Edwards, and to a lesser extent, for Naomi Wolf. :-)
They should have offered her a Hamburger and tater tots, she'd probably conducted her own interview...but who can understand the girl with her mouth full.
She was afraid she would be asked to explain her quote that
"If we win, there won't be any riots!"
explains why FNC has been sucking up to DNC
Good grief, isn't the Fox poll still showing Kerry ahead of Bush?
