Bush: Reject Kerry, 'Come stand by me'

MIAMI -- President Bush campaigned from one end of battleground Florida to the other Sunday, criticizing Cuba's Fidel Castro in a pitch to the state's Cuban-Americans and urging Republican supporters in Miami to help give him a second term.

"If you believe America should fight the war on terror with all her might and lead with unwavering confidence," Bush said, "I ask you, come stand by me. If you are a Democrat who believes your great party has turned too far left in this year, I ask you, come stand with me."

Viva Bush!

Sadly, Republican Cuban Americans are outnumbered by the blacks, Jews, gays and "other Latinos" in South Florida. I hope that we can get the middle and upper class Venezuelans and Colombians into the GOP fold (if we can get them to register first).

This is what Bush should be doing. He needs to use high rhetoric...something he doesn't do nearly enough. He needed to follow his gut and quit holding back a long time ago. If we lose this don't blame Michael Moore and his crowd, blame Karl Rove or whoever made the decision to not fight every step of the way.

Before the rally, Bush attended The Church of the Epiphany -- home church of Bush's brother, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. The president received ovations as he arrived and left the service during which Monsignor Jude O'Doherty praised Bush from the pulpit.

"Mr. President, I want you to know that I admire your faith and your courage to profess it," O'Doherty said in a long tribute to Bush, who has assiduously courted Roman Catholics. "Your belief in prayer and dependence on God has to be an example for all of us."

Bush going to Catholic mass with his Catholic brother in Florida on the Sunday before the election? Wow. That sends quite a statement. Bush is going to carry the Catholic vote. Heck, he's a better Catholic than Kerry.

I read that the campaign had to find a new song after the writer of "Still the One" complained. Are they now playing "Stand by Me" at the rallies?

Karl Rove aside .. the President still calls the shots.

People need to stop whining about the President doing this or that .. if your ideas were so good, the President would have hired you .. since he didn't .....

"I ask you, come stand by me. If you are a Democrat who believes your great party has turned too far left in this year, I ask you, come stand with me."

Bush is the reasonable alternative. If you don't mind sKerry, how could anyone mark the ballot on Tuesday if they momentarily flash on the face of Terri? The 'movers n shakers' have almost presented this as not much of a race, at all. You have the ABB block voting for a pet rock, in preference to George Bush. But perhaps you also have a ABK group voting more out of fear of sKerry than support of Bush. If it's seen like that, beyond LM spin which is increasingly ineffective, but honestly, then it could influence what mandate the President declares as lame-duck.

Come stand by me!

This is what I heard so many people say at a thrilling Bush rally in Erie, PA in early September. Many came from hundreds of miles, as did I, and they said, "I came to stand up for President Bush."

They were outraged at the slurs and attacks he's had to bear during his entire presidency, and particularly during wartime. I hope our good president can sense that millions stand with him, and I hope the proof will be apparent on Tuesday.
