THE POODLE'S 380-TON OBSESSION
John Kerry has decided that the defining issue of the last week of his campaign for President of the United States is this story about whether or not somebody was guarding an arms depot in Iraq almost 2 years ago. If that doesn't speak volumes about the left's desperation, I don't know what does.
Of course, it all started when the New York Times and CBS were going to run the story that the Bush Administration left the explosives unguarded and allowed them to fall into the hands of Islamic terrorists. That plan came crashing down when other news organizations reported that the weapons were already gone when Coalition troops got there. That didn't stop The Poodle from talking about it, and so now there's some more news.
The New York Times is running a story that says a videotape made by a television crew with the troops that opened the bunkers does indeed show a huge supply of explosives still there nine days after the fall of Saddam Hussein. The Pentagon has released some satellite photos that clearly show trucks at the site after the inspectors left. What were those trucks doing there? So who's right?
First, it's important to introduce something that the media and the left doesn't want you to know - perspective. Yes, 380 tons sounds like a lot...but the U.S. Military has destroyed 400,000 tons of explosives from across Iraq, which means what we're talking about here is less than one-tenth of one percent.
Second, just who is The Poodle really blaming here? George Bush was not the one guarding that weapons depot, Coalition forces were. Is Kerry saying the troops are at fault? What if they were guarding it, but were moved elsewhere more important? Once again, it's bash Bush first, get the facts second.
And why are the Democrats all of a sudden worried about missing weapons? These are just conventional weapons...Saddam's weapons of mass destruction are still not accounted for.
It just depends which way the wind blows...weapons, no weapons...whatever makes the President look bad, that's what the left is going with.
CBS, which had planned to break the explosives story on 60 Minutes on Sunday 36 hours before the election said it now plans to run a story on the show charging that U.S. troops were sent to Iraq without proper body armor because of Bushs tax cuts, a charge often leveled by Kerry.
"You load three hundred and eighty tons
And what do you get?
Not much political benefit
And deeper in debt"
Kerry's edge on Bush in California narrows (Bush Only 7 Down)
I think Kerry got suckered by Bush. Bush didn't respond to the charges initially so Kerry went after Bush full throttle. Now Kerry looks like the total fool we know him to be. All Kerry is doing is making the case for why Bush went into Iraqi but the dufus doesn't even know that is what he is doing.
WHAT!!!!!!
I thought you were going to say he had a crush on Edward's wife.
Boortz can get hideously annoying.. "The Poodle" is about dumb as childish as you can get with referring to Kerry.
It's not bad every now and then, but when he repeats the same childish phrases over and over again it makes Boortz look like a doofus.
I use to read Nealz Nuze all the time, but stopped, because you pretty much know what is going to be in there. Boortz has 1 stump speech.
"My fellow Americans, I am hear to talk to you about voter fraud, and about the lies that you've been told about voter disenfrachisement. Why is the media lying to you? Let me explain ..."
All this(and more)just goes to prove that El Rushbo was right when he opined that this phony campaign fund reform would take the voice away from the people and give it to The Alphabet Soup Networks and The New York Slimes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Boortz is a liberal idiot. In the same league as Bill O'Reilly.
FOX ALERT - Brett Baer from the Pentagon - News conference in one hour from Military designated to destroy munitions. Present on April 13, 2003
I don't think it worked at all. John Kerry is spending the last week of the campaign talking about how Iraq was a dangerous place filled with dangerous weapons in the hands of a madman. Well, yeah. Show up to a Senate Intelligence Committee meeting once in a while and you'd know that.
Kerry's base doesn't give a rat's rump about weapons in Iraq. They want to talk about jobs, health care, diversity, women's rights, education and all the goodies Kerry is going to give them at the expense of people they don't like.
Plus, Kerry's line of attack is really straining the "I support the troops but not the war" crap. BUSH didn't guard the ammo dump. CHENEY let the weapons fall into the wrong hands. RUMSFELD is responsible for this. But the 3rd Infantry Division and 181st Airborne are stand-up guys who just need a new commander in chief.

TO ALL. See this update from Powerline Blog, who has been fielding emails from EOD guys.
Heard NPR this morning flat out state: "videotape shows the 380 tons were there when US troop arrives" Anybody just READING the KSTP story wouldn't come to that conclusion. Neither KSTP, nor the reporters on the beat have made such claims. MSM/NPR in full meltdown. This is there LAST CHANCE story and the HAVE TO RUN WITH IT.
Everytime he refers to Sean Hannity as "The Baby Jesus" it cracks me up.
Great shot sir. Although if Edwards wife rolled over on him ---he would be truly crushed.
