Working Families e-Activist Network P
Dear Working Families e-Activist:
Republican operatives behind President George W. Bush have launched a massive, coordinated vote suppression effort in key battleground states across America--and we need your help to stop it now.
Sign the petition now to demand that Bush and his operatives STOP this outrageous effort to suppress the vote.
* In Oregon, a leaked Republican "observation manual" calls for volunteers with video cameras to show up at ballot drop-off centers Election Night. "If they start videotaping when some people are still voting, some voters might consider that intimidating," state Elections Director John Lindback said. (The Oregonian, 10/19/04)
* In Pennsylvania, Republican House Speaker and Bush-Cheney '04 State Regional Campaign Chair John Perzel acknowledged his job is to suppress the largely minority Philadelphia vote. "The Kerry campaign needs to come out with humongous numbers here in Philadelphia," Perzel told U.S. News & World Report. "It's important for me to keep that number down."
When one vote is suppressed we all pay a price. That's why we must stand firm and let Bush's team know we will never allow vote suppression to become the political norm. Sign the petition, then forward it to your co-workers and family members: unionvoice.
* In Florida, documents prepared for top RNC and Bush campaign operatives list voters in predominantly black areas of Jacksonville whose votes Bush supporters likely will challenge, according to the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, citing the BBC.
* In Ohio, Bush supporters filed 35,000 voter eligibility challenges and were preparing to send challengers to 8,000 polling places on Election Day to suppress more votes, according to The Washington Post. A judge had to step in to block their efforts.
You don't have to read very far in any day's newspaper to find more examples of Bush's team pulling out all the stops to win this election by disenfranchising voters--especially people of color, people with disabilities, seniors and new voters.
Take action now--sign the petition calling on Bush and his supporters to stop these efforts. We urgently need thousands of signatures to make a loud statement telling Bush's team we know what they are doing and we demand they stop:
We demand an immediate end to coordinated efforts to suppress the vote. This is America, where every vote counts--and we demand that every vote be counted.
Send Bush and his campaign operatives a strong message today to STOP vote suppression tactics. Act now before it's too late by signing the petition:
It shouldn't be a surprise that Bush's folks think they can win this election by disenfranchising voters. It worked for them in 2000. But we're going to make our voices heard--loud and clear--and say:
NOT THIS TIME!
With your help, every vote WILL count Nov. 2.
In solidarity,
Working Families e-Activist Network, AFL-CIO Oct. 28, 2004
P.S. American troops have been fighting to bring "free and fair" elections to Afghanistan and Iraq. Please take action now for a free and fair election right here on Nov. 2.

This Email is printed in it's entirity including links.... Not meant for any pro democrat views, but BOY ARE THEY SCARED!!!!!! ROFL
I got this email this morning...and yes, I am a union member, but I DO NOT believe in the union crapola not one bit!
They know that there is no vote suppressoin by the Rs. They also know their target audience is dim. The target audience will suck this up and get motivated to do all sorts of things, in addtion to maybe giving up couch time to go vote.
overheard union folks at work today plotting invasions of
old folks homes.
I got a cartoon bubble of Monty Python..."bring out your dead"...
LOL... and yeah think Brucey baby brought 80k fans to DC for Kerry? I don't think so. .... Bussed in!
Wish they'd stop dialing my home to play me yet another taped message. Wish they didn't run so darn many doom & gloom ads to try to scare my vote toward the wrong guy, at the wrong time & in the wrong place.
As Sheriff Andy Taylor would've said, 'T'wouldn't be a fair fight if we was cheatin'.' (The other side doesn't understand that...)
Ughhh. Their use of the word "solidarity" gives off socialism vibes.
I sent them a note of condolences.

I have that telephone telemarketing zapper thingy. Most cases it works... but I let the answering machine handle all calls. ....weeds out random callers eventually.
no they don't.....deny deny deny..... ;o)
from the 70's.....
thank you...
as usual, whatever they charge, is exactly what they are doing.
I am involved in the 72-Outreach. This is what the email I got said. There is not a word about suppressing votes. The plan is to get enough Bush voters to counteract the vote fraud by Dems.
All the fraud reported so far has been attempted fraud from the Democrats...
what defines "working family"? does that mean even the kids?
I thought they were against child labor... Or does it mean
what I think:I had 4 kids and never finished school and got a job paying minimum wage-therefore we need to raise the
minimum wage.
oh I know....those dems are simply scared!!!
"There's no honor among thieves", someone once said.
I got another panic email again from unionvoice and they are running fast mode scared in stating the Republicans are "not fair"
Gads, sounds like my stupid co worker! Everything must be fair, not experience, skills, or qualified to do a job, but 'fair'
Oh well, I say the election is in the final countdown and praying no run-a-muck crap the rats pull!!!!
