Actually cognative impairment after surgery is not unusual for older people. It is quite common after 70. They aren't sure why.

The Enquirer may be wrong about the alien landings an such, but this medical fact is right.

The strong pain meds in addition to whatever he was on before are probably affecting his speech.

I would imagine he will be hooked on oxycutin before is over. What irony.

John

"Personally, I take anything from sources such as the Enquirer with a grain of salt."

You shouldn't. I used to work at a rival Time-Warner pop culture magazine and we used to steal all our ideas from the Enquirer. I also knew some Harvard grads who went to work at the Enquirer after college and they say that it was the best reporting experience they had.(One of them went on to be a science reporter for the NYSlimes)

Also, for what it's worth, the New York Slimes has done a bunch of pieces on how the Enquirer can be more enterprising and break stories - OJ Simpson case ( Vanity Fair said they did the best reporting on that story) and Jesse Jackson's love child, for example. The Enquirer hasn't done alien stories for years. Their reporters were a hell of a lot better than the snooty people who worked at my Time Warner magazine.

Look, with a four artery bypass, Clinton's sex drvie is going to be diminished, at least for the next year or so. That, however, is not his real problem. He is going to pay a price for "coming out" prematurely. He has not finished his rehab program and should not by raising his arms above his head, like he has done on numerous occasions. If he dislodges the clamps around his breast bone, he is in for real trouble. This is a fool that is not heeding his doctor's advice. But, then, again, he never heeded his doctor's advice or he wouldn't have gone through this very serious invasive procedure. It really is a shame because, at the end of the day he will have done absolutely nothing to help John Kerry!!!

That's the REAL story behind the recent disclosure that Clinton will not be campaigning extensively for Sen. John Kerry as the November presidential elections nears.

That's certainly a blow for the Bush Campaign. Too bad.

It was clear from his brief appearance in Filthydelphia that his brain function had been diminished.

Any of us who have had relatives who had this operation know very well that it may take a year or longer to recover.

One just has to remember Senator Graham of Florida's rantings and ramblings since his operation.

If you lived in sight of the WTC or the Pentagon you would not be praying for clinton's soul.

Clinton may have suffered permanent brain damage.

I have heard that Viagra can help.

Sorry, but by dint of lawsuits, the Inquirer is one of the best sourced publications out there. It's the type of news it peddals that I object to, but in terms of whether what they are saying on the cover is true or not, they are generally better sourced, than most certainly the NYT or CBS.

If they are running with this, it's a good bet its true.

sorry, it was the first thing that popped into my mind. ;)

You have been here since 1999 and you post an article from the National Enquirer HERE!!!??? You deserve a Zot!

You must be too young to remember that it was the Enquirer that came up with the photos of O.J. wearing the shoes that were said to be worn at his famous crime scene...The shoes that he said he never owned...They print what they can sell...Sometime it's true, sometimes maybe it's stretched a bit...

Yes, I agree with you. The Inquirer does excellent research where needed and they have their articles vetted by excellent attorneys. They definitely have a space in the panoply of journalistic efforts.
