I'm a big fan of the people that did that kind of work. I live within an hour of Newport RI where all the summer mansions are. But the one thing about the Astors and the Vanderbilts was they did not cloak themselves in the "enviromental" movement. That to me is where the rub comes in.

I love, love, LOVE, Newport RI. The mansions, cliff walk, rugged beaches to swim, snorkel; restaurants, city walking guide,cemeteries, history. It is one of my fav US cities.

I was in OCS there "a few" years ago..

There are many "ghost stories" at Stan Hywet as well as the Newport "summer oottages"..

so many stories & research to be done.. so little time
