I believe that Soros is behind the oil price surge. He said he would spend any amount of money to defeat George Bush and manipulation of the markets is one his key tools.
I think he and his buddies are. They have some scheme to make money on a Bush defeat. I am not smart enough or knowledgable enough to figure it out, but I believe he isn't really in it for his convictions.
