John Kerry's campaign insists the Democrat will keep cheering his hometown Boston Red Sox to World Series victory, curse or no curse. The curse of the Bambino?
No, not THAT curse. Kerry is defying a folk legend though one with a high error rate that a World Series victory by an American League baseball team like the Red Sox forecasts GOP triumph on Election Day.
"It's a new century, and John Kerry believes it's a fresh start," says Michael Meehan, a Kerry-Edwards campaign spokesman. "The Red Sox will win the World Series, and he'll win the White House."
Wrong, say Halloween masks, soda cups, bobblehead dolls, cookies, hair and economic models. Through the weekend, all suggested Kerry was doomed to fall to President Bush.

I will worry until the Redskins win next Sunday. That's the one we need to watch.
I just hope that John Kerry says or does something really stupid during the world series on live national tv.
It is already a done a deal: The Lakers made it to the NBA Finals...
Republican candidate for Prez has won every single time the Lakers have gone to the Finals (1952, 1968, 1972, 1980, 1984, 1988, 2000... 2004)
Hmm, apparently when the Redskins win their home game right before the election the incumbent wins.
So if the Redskins lose, and the Red Sox win...
What if there is no curse of the Bambino, but rather a curse of the Bambina (Mary Joe Kopeckne)?
Vote Ted out, and let's see what happens.
This is the Media-World swallowing itself. Merging 2 non-related events----they are related ONLY because they are both currently "BIG STORIES" in the media.
Leave it to ABC--a News Media--to connect those dots.
What's next? A Muslim-type connection between the recent Hurricanes and god's displeasure with Floridians?
i go by the Halloween mask sales... more Dubya' masks being sold than Kerry masks... it's weird, but i do take comfort in this...
who are they playing?
The @*&^$!@# Packers. Hopefully, they're in for a let- down after what they did to my Cowboys.
Who are Redskins facing? Too bad the Bears-Redskins match had't taken place until this coming Sunday. I could have guaranteed a Skins victory then, and I'm a Bears fan!
The Packers.
Packers huh? Well folks, now accruate is this poll? Me thinks the Packers will be a lot harder to knock off than the Bears.
It has never been wrong. Since 1936, if the Redskins win their final game before the election, the incumbent party wins. If they lose, the incumbent party loses.
As the Red Sox proved against the Yankees there is always a first time. Corelation doesn't mean causation.
