Sen. John Kerry (search) lost his battle to make Missouri a battleground state......
The road to the White House normally runs through Missouri, a state that has sided with the winner in every election but one 1956 for the past century. Bush won the state by 4 percentage points in 2000.
Kerry sought to put Missouri and its 11 electoral votes into play. His campaign spent $5.8 million and the Democratic National Committee spent $1.7 million before Labor Day.
Missouri has been growing more with each election cycle. Four years ago, Bush won a majority of independent voters and took advantage of the state's anti-tax sentiments. Nearly half of the state's voters identify themselves as "born again" or evangelical Christian.

Again?
I live in Jackson County, MO. The Republican head of Jackson County, MO has stated that he has never seen such a Republican grass roots efforts in our county as this year.
has anyone seen Gephardt?
Who? ; )
You think the Cardinals have anything to do with it?
Great news!
I would have sworn that sKerry had already given up on Missouri. However, I agree that it's just wonderful that the Democraps spent 7+ MILLION dollars of liberal money that would have been more dangerous in Florida or Ohio. hehehehe
MO is off the board and has been for a while. It's down to Ohio and Florida.

bellweather..ding, ding, ding...
And WI and IA and MN and MI and HI and NM and OR. Notice a trend?
I've seen so many of these states and how they almost always vote for the winner.
For once I want to see a state that never or almost never votes for a winner
Wonder what one would call such a state?
Loosers!
He USED to be a contendah..
Old news. Kerry stopped airing ads more than a month ago.
Did you know they have had, for years, Catholic Churches that are known as "Evangelical" Catholic churches?
Have a cousin who attends one, hugh church.
I've been doing my part...45 yard signs put up, stop and asked, one at a time. Will make phone calls next week.
If you look at a county-by-county map of Missouri, you'll see Republicans dominate the state, except for the urban areas in St. Louis, Kansas City, around Columbia (college town) and Jeff City (government workers at state capitol).
Perhaps someone could post the map I'm reciting from memory?
It's hard to figure how we elect any democrats...unless they keep the polls open in St. Louis.
We go with the winner...W.
"John, I'm gonna put you out of your Missouri."
