--04/02/71: FBI (SubA,S1,p.116): NYT article, “U.S.Vets of Vietnam War Rally on Wall Street for Peace,” by Michael T. Kaufman:

Quote:

A veteran of the war in Vietnam who has 3 Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star & a Silver Star told a noontime Wall Street rally yesterday, “We are all of us in this country guilty for having allowed the war to go on.” The speaker, John Kerry of the VVAW, addressed the crowd from a truck in front of the NY Stock Exchange... Mr. Kerry, now a lieutenant in the Naval Reserve, contrasted the Army’s sentencing of ..Calley with what he said was a wider collective responsibility for the war. “Guilty as Lt. Calley may have been of the actual act of murder,” he said, “the verdict does not single out the real criminal. Those of us who have served in Vietnam know that the real guilty party is the United States of America.” The U.S., he said, “finds some men guilty & some men innocent of the very same charges” and tries “to ease its conscience by scape-goating one man.”

--4/08/71: FBI Report 4/12/71 (S2, p. 218-219): “On April 8, 1971, a confidential source...furnished a 5-page doc. under the letterhead of the VVAW, 156 5th Ave., NY, entitled, “V.V.A.W. Newsletter ’71 #1” dated Mar., 1971, concerning the demonstrations in WDC during April, 1971.... A copy of this doc. follows:” ....“Dewey Canyon III..No air cover will be provided,..so bring own ponchos, ..old uniforms & medals.. Medals will formally be returned, in a body bag, to Congress.”..

--04/08/71: FBI Report 4/12/71 (S2,p.191) -“On 4/8/71, a source..advised that according to John Kerry, a VVAW leader, the U.S. Congress is prepared to listen to VVAW proposals, & provided the VVAW demonstration, 4/18-23/71 remains nonviolent, the Congress may be influenced.”

--04/12/71: FBI (S2,p.218-219) -“..VVAW Newsletter ’71 #1, dated 3/71.. “Project funds will be provided by the people who brought you the Moratoriums..” ..”Medals will formally be returned...” “Sens. McGovern & Kennedy & 20-some Congressmen have indicated agreement to meet with us to accept our demands.”

--04/13/71: FBI (S2,199-204) - Funding.

Quote:

“Source..advised that an announcement was made on (redacted) that the VVAW had received $50,000 from U.S. Sens. McGovern & Hatfield, who according to the source, obtained the money from an unknown NY source... A second..source..learned..a VVAW leader indicated he would contact (redacted-phonetic) (redacted) regarding the possibility of (redacted) to Washington, DC, for the VVAW demonstration & (redacted) stated money was no object. The second source reported that (redacted) VVAW regional coord., contacted the VVAW chapter at (redacted) & indicated that all necessary money had been obtained from NY & advised the (redacted) chapter to ask NY for any needed funds... Source advised that [redacted] had discussed the need for VVAW publicity. Kerry stated the VVAW had spent $94,000 for an advertisement in the Sunday, 4/11/71 issue of the NYT & that further funds should be spent providing transportation rather than advertisement... -07/19/04: “Damage Control,” by Philip Gourevitch:

Quote:

Kerry declared, “the Bush Admin. has pursued the most arrogant, inept, reckless, & ideological foreign policy in modern history:..he rushed into battle--and he went almost alone. .. Kerry called on the Admin...to.. bring in the U.N. & the “int’l. community” to help America succeed instead of inviting failure alone. .. Kerry said..we have to truly internationalize both politically & militarily: we cannot depend on a U.S.-only presence.” ..... in his Senate speech against the Gulf War resolution in 1991, Kerry repeatedly invoked the failures & agonies of Vietnam, arguing that the country was not ready to sacrifice another generation to the horrors of combat. ..he had agreed with the Clinton Admin.’s refusal in 1994 to acknowledge the genocide in Rwanda... Begin 4th excerpt:

“Notes from the Undergrad” by Matthew Continetti (9/6/04) -

Quote:

Kerry's most famous college speech (1966)...when he delivered the Yale class oration..is notable for its rhetoric:

KERRY: "It is misleading to mention right & wrong in this issue..for to every thinking man, the semantics of this contest often find the U.S. right in its wrongness & wrong in its rightness."

On American power, Kerry continued, "the U.S. must...bring itself to understand that the policy of intervention"--meaning, intervention against communism--"that was right for Western Europe does not & cannot find the same application to the rest of the world."

“What was an excess of isolationism has become an excess of interventionism..” .."Never in the last 20 years..has the gov’t. of the U.S. been as isolated as it is today."

... It summarizes, so neatly and so early in his career, Kerry's central critique of American foreign policy....

----Yet the John Kerry who spoke on 6/12/66, was the same John Kerry who, home from Vietnam, addressed the Fulbright Committee on 4/22/71.

----It was the same Kerry who supported a nuclear freeze in his Democratic primary fight against James Shannon in 1984.

----It was the same Kerry who opposed Ronald Reagan's 1983 invasion of Grenada, of which Kerry said at the time, "No substantial threat to U.S. interests existed & American lives were not endangered..The invasion represented a bully's show of force against a weak Third World nation."

----It was the same Kerry who spoke out against Reagan's funding of the anti-Communist contras in the 1980s.

----The same Kerry who told the Los Angeles Times in 1985, "I said then (in 1971), and I still believe, that we can't be hamstrung about intervening everywhere."

----And it was the same Kerry who, on 1/19/91, took to the floor of the U.S. Senate to speak out against the first Gulf War. "Are we ready for the changes this war will bring?" Kerry asked then. "Changes in sons and daughters who return from combat never the same..." "There is a rush to war here," Kerry went on. The U.S. was acting "with more bravado than patience." His view of intervention was grim. "It sounds like we are risking war for pride," he continued, "not vital interests!"

** They are the same words and ideas, uttered again & again, at various times & places, over 30 years of public life...

Folks, I'm not sure where to post this because it covers so many things... I may have gone a bit crazy in my topic selection. Over on the SwiftBoat and POWs for Truth site, there is a thread (see Url) by a lady who has been busting her tail digging through tons of FBI and newspaper files to try to provide a clear picture of just who John Kerry was and still is. Below I include just four of the hundreds of SOURCED tidbits she has posted. She begins with a data dump on just who were the main players in the Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW) and where are they now (1st excerpt I include here is the first in her alphabetical list) and moves on to privide a very detailed look at Kerry's activities (2nd, 3rd and 4th excerpts).

Why am I posting this here? Are any of you aware that the VVAW is alive and kicking and that two new organizations have been started, both supported and trained by the VVAW? We now have to deal with the VVAW and Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW), as well as Veterans Against Iraq War (VAIW)? Go get informed about the danger to America and our men and women in uniform and spread this around in the way you Freepers can, and do, do. 'Nuff said.

I joined this site so I could post this, and I'm not familiar enough with posting and searching here to ensure this isn't a duplicate link to her work. The searches I did run came back negative. Pop on over to the site and check it out. Plan to so some reading!

(Note: on the SWPT site, she uses bolded text and colors to highlight significant text in her excerpts, and they are not shown in what I excerpted above--sorry.....You must read carefully to see what is highly significant in the quotes as they are included here)

You did fine; thank you for all that research gathering the information. And welcome to Free Republic.

I had no idea that loathesome organization was still in existence, although I'm not surprised.

First of all - welcome to Freerepublic and posting this. It's easier to just read from the link.

Just to make it a bit more clear, your post is from the Swift Boat discussion. That's where your source link goes to.

And your post over there trying to get the word out on the earlier post by Beatrice1000

You are always welcome, as I always welcome your posts.

This is kind of an odd link/s. It goes to the Swift Boat discussion board. And then you need to hunt out the latest. Within the subject.

I posted this earlier in another thread. Beatrice1000 did an INCREDIBLE job researching all the ties between Kerry and the communist party and other anti american activists. What is so deplorable is that we have to read about this online. I have sent much of this info out to over 30 media/blog sites and none have run with it. Beatrice has done all the work and provided all sources. A reporter would only have to click to verify most info. Please read through her research. It will terrify you to think that a communist or someone too stupid to know he has been used by communists might actually become the leader of the free (lets hope it stays free) world.

Thanks for welcoming me to Free Republic and for your comments. Haven't figured out yet whether I can edit the site address I entered while composing this. On the off-chance I can't, here is a more recent address. http://www2.swiftvets.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=12535&highlight=havana Hope this clears up any confusion....

Either one of the links takes you to a forum on the SwiftBoat Vets and PoW for Truth site. Beatrice1000 has two pages worth of data, with the links back to the sources, portions of it I excerpted to put here on Free Republic. It is an amazing amount of work she has done. And she's not even being paid for it. Like gulf1609 says.. "a reporter would only have to click to verify most info." A genealogist would give anything to have this much documentation just waiting to be verified.

Keep in mind, no matter what the outcome of the election, this as well as the financial thread also being worked on will not go away. We still have a war being waged against us, a MSM that is useless and we have the VVAW, IVAW, the VAIW and all the communist orgs fomenting hate. . . they aren't just going to drift off into the sunset. I don't recall who wrote this on the Swifties site, but I liked it so much I copied it to add to my emails: "Has anyone else realized that this is the first presidential election in decades where the communist party has not put a candidate up for election? Why? Because the communists are backing John Kerry. John Kerry is the communist candidate in drag."

Have been trying to dig all summer, and trying to link activist news media (MSM) with persons from the anti-war movement.

There's a guy out there named Greg Kane (on Kerry's Virginia Steering Committee) who was active back then also, and he's been submitting radical, stir-the-pot letters to the editors to colleges in battleground states since last Jan/Feb.

I spoke to the editor of the Ohio State Lantern back in June and asked him if he commonly printed anti-war letters from non-student, ex-hippy activists from decades past. He was amazed that anyone other than a student would bother to write them a letter.... so we should be aware that their tactics are all left over from those days.

Other "dots" I've connected lead me to believe the same network of liberals has been re-energized by Kerry's campaign and the new war (this kind of thing for them is GLORY DAYS material).

It's time to begin talking about starting a legitimate organization that will counter the myths and lies of the anti-war crowd...keep trying to tell Americans who they are, where their money comes from, etc. We cannot allow them to get enough momentum to damage our military the way they did after Vietnam. The electorate is dangerously underinformed on this.
