Security Council members deny meeting Kerry By Joel Mowbray SPECIAL TO THE WASHINGTON TIMES U.N. ambassadors from several nations are disputing assertions by Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry that he met for hours with all members of the U.N. Security Council just a week before voting in October 2002 to authorize the use of force in Iraq. An investigation by The Washington Times reveals that while the candidate did talk for an unspecified period to at least a few members of the panel, no such meeting, as described by Mr. Kerry on a number of occasions over the past year, ever occurred. At the second presidential debate earlier this month, Mr. Kerry said he was more attuned to international concerns on Iraq than President Bush, citing his meeting with the entire Security Council. "This president hasn't listened. I went to meet with the members of the Security Council in the week before we voted. I went to New York. I talked to all of them, to find out how serious they were about really holding Saddam Hussein accountable,"

But were the meetings "seared" in his memory? If so, the media will cover up for him (see: Cambodia).
Is this the biggie we've been waiting for on Kerry???
Red State makes it sound like it is.
Well, hopefully the heroic Swift Vets and POWs will do their thing this week.
'fraid so. But the Swift Boat Vets should still have something, and I'm certain Mr. Rove will unveil something by the middle of the week. (fingers crossed)
Does anyone even remember Kerry saying this? The Wash Times must be hard up for circulation to 'leak' this to Powerline, Red States, and LGF. This is about nothing. It's so about nothing it makes Seinfeld look to be about something substantial.
So - he's a liar. Anyone who is not aware of that is either filled with so much hate that it does not matter or is from another planet.
It's a huge lie, told several times and repeated before a nationwide audience.
The question is, do the mainstream media care about lying? After all, they lie all the time themselves. In fact, the basic leftist position is that there is no such thing as truth, and even if there were, telling the truth is much less important than gaining power and imposing your agenda on the country.
Which is worse, that a mere Senator would claim to have "meetings" with foreign governments, or that he LIED about it?
Certainly not "huge" as the hype would have led us to believe, but if itknocks even a few people off the fence and onto Bush's side of the yard, so much the better.
Big surprise here!
Kerry lies!
This should be front page news across the country.
/sarcasm off
Look for the Swifties to unleash the bomb that sinks Kerry's Ship
What a liar he is. He makes Clinton look like George Washington.
Well, maybe not.
It's actually the centerpiece of Kerry's charge that he would have handled the war better than Bush. One of his main points has been exposed as having a lie at the foundation. Not a surprise for us, but a pretty big deal. It won't play with the electorate, but that doesn't make it any less important. And, it may give the President some stump material for a week.
"Mr. Kerry said he was more attuned to international concerns on Iraq than President Bush, citing his meeting with the entire Security Council. "This president hasn't listened. I went to meet with the members of the Security Council in the week before we voted." "
two key points. first, kerry lied. second, why should bush listen to the security council? america first, u.n. last.
Hey - He met with a few of them. That's close enough for government work. Right?
Kerry is not a good man.
One good thing here, even the UN challenges Kerry's credibility. That's looking awful bad for the Kerry campaign. When you rage about the importance of the UN only for its members to call you a liar, that ain't good for Kerry. Even the UN is jumping off the Kerry ship. That's funny.
I don't know that this is the dud some of you think. I think there is a large difference in saying someone lied in the past and pointing to him lying to you directly a few weeks ago. He said this lie in their living rooms...big difference.
His squirming to get out of this one will give weight to all past accusations of lying that were skimmed over in the idiot aka undecided voter segment of the population, I think.
