Who: Operation Street Corner, The Vietnam Veterans' Grassroots Campaign Against John Kerry

Where: on the east side of Blue Ridge Road between Pylon and Hutton, Raleigh.

When: this Saturday, Oct 23, 9 am until at least 4 pm.

Organizer: Bob Chamberlain, Raleigh, NC

You do not have to be a vet to participate. Signs will be available if you want to carry one (Vets Against Kerry, Americans Against Kerry, etc.).

This Saturday is the next to last day of the North Carolina State Fair, and State plays Miami in the evening after the Red/White men's basketball game in the afternoon. Crowds will be huge. Weather forecast is for partly cloudy skies, temperatures around 57 to 65.

If you can spend one hour this Saturday, please show your support.

If I was unclear, I'll straighten it out:

If you're not a vet, you won't have to carry a 'Vets Against Kerry' sign. You could carry a different sign, such as 'Americans Against Kerry'.

It would be, but I don't think thats what Mike intended to happen, there are "Americans against Kerry" signs for non-vets.

Maybe people forget that some vets who truly opposed Kerry but are no longer here to carry sign or protest have family who proudly do so in their place. My brother-in-law would have wanted someone to do what he no longer can to show his opposition to the traitor.

I have a handful of vets in my family/acquaintances that are deceased; (all of them from earlier conflicts)that I would imagine would appreciate someone carrying signs for them!

I would love to proudly hold one for my now deceased Viet Nam vet. I'll even bring a picture of him in his uniform to hold with the sign. I did that in DC for the rally there. In fact, I've got some of the small signs that they gave us there. "Kerry Called Us Baby Killers", "Kerry Called Us Animals" and "Kerry Called Us Evil Men". Those would be good and I have two of the Viet Nam Veterans Agains John Kerry signs also. I also have a couple of Bush Cheney signs. I'll try and get up there at some point during the day. I'm sure it will be my last chance to "Freep" before election day. Can anyone suggest a way to get there that can get me coming in from up Blue Ridge Rd or at least help me avoid the glut of traffic that will be out there. I'm coming from Fayetteville.
