uh... many states do give tax breaks to hybrids, despite the fact that many regular cars realize better mileage. If you take the total cost of hydrogen cells, it is far greater than gasoline. until it comes down drastically, it'll never work.

I don't think the Goverment should tax us (or tax break us) into acting one way or another. It is just giving the government more control over our lives.

Also, what most people fail to releize is that the electricity to charge these electric cars has to come from somewhere. In most cases that would be a coal power plant. How much pollution are you saving then? Batteries are just not efficient enough for auto use. What we really need is more Nuclear plants.

Hydrogen is a JOKE. It is less pollution at the car level but takes MORE pollution to actually make the hydrogen!

What we need is exactly what we have right now: the market working to make cars more efficient, and people incentivized by the market to do so.

Keep your filthy government offa my four-barrel.

How high do you think gasoline would have to go to equate with hydrogen? You only looked at half of the equation. Hydrogen fuel cells will come down in price and cost of operation because of demand and as-yet-to-be-found technology.

Another dollar per gallon will greatly reduce the gasoline consuption, dontcha think?
