Not to worry about Kewaunee just getting a new head:

Kewaunee nuclear plant outage and reactor vessel head project support long-term safe operation

KEWAUNEE, Wis. (Oct. 11, 2004)—Kewaunee Nuclear Power Plant began a scheduled refueling outage Saturday that includes the final phases of a $20 million project to install a new reactor vessel head.

During this outage, more than 550 contractors will assist plant staff with extensive routine inspections and approximately 4,000 preventive maintenance activities, in addition to replacing the reactor vessel head.

“A new reactor vessel head represents a major investment in Kewaunee that will ensure continued safe, economic and reliable operation of this vital source of electricity for the region,” said Tom Coutu, Site Vice President for Kewaunee.

The new Kewaunee reactor head vessel is the first of five to be installed under contracts signed earlier this year by Nuclear Management Company (NMC) with Westinghouse Electric Company. NMC is undertaking replacement of the reactor vessel heads proactively as inspections continue to demonstrate the structural integrity of the existing heads.

The 574-megawatt Kewaunee plant is one of six Upper Midwest nuclear plants operated by NMC headquartered in Hudson, Wis. The plant is owned by Wisconsin Public Service of Green Bay (59 percent) and Alliant Energy (41 percent) of Madison, Wis.

Yeah, well you had me scratching my head, cuz my Granny grew up in Kewauskum.

You had me look up the article to find out if there was something big that I missed seeing there, while driving around lost, trying to find a tiny kinda private cemetary where some great-great grandparents were planted.

All you would need is a piece of strap steel, and cut a slot into it, it can be done on any band saw, no one needs anything expensive, just a $10 piece of iron, a band saw, and a long pipe extension bar about 4 to 5 feet long and you can move the side of a building.
