Now that all of their Utopian dreams turned out to be nightmares in disguise, these intellectuals and their followers have nothing to worship. Oh, they can instead choose to hate the most visible symbols against their erstwhile utopia, notably U.S.. But they hardly keep them together as they used to.

People are slipping away. They lost "faith." They are drifting. Utopian ideologies took the place of traditional religion for more than a hundred years. Now it is close to death. Their chief priests, Utopian intellectuals, are now losing their jobs. I won't miss them.

So-called intellectuals cannot be checks on government when they rely on checks from the government to survive.
