Something to Yak About – Second BC04 Office Targeted In Theft
Police in Spokane, WA are investigating what appears to be a second rate burglary at a Bush-Cheney campaign office there. Authorities say it appears a hole was smashed through the wall from an adjacent office and cash was taken. Various office supplies and equipment – including a computer and files – were left behind because authorities say some was too large to fit through the hole in the wall. Campaign workers say they think the burglar may have been startled in the process and left the scene before the job was finished.

The AFL-CIO’s Bogus Beef
Here’s a good one. Doing little more than quoting numerous press reports and politely making the case, BC04 Chairman Gov. Marc Racicot sent a letter to AFL-CIO President John Sweeney asking him and his AFL-CIO people to stop intimidating Republicans. But even after AFL-CIO officials admitted to staging various actions at GOP offices, a union flack referred to Gov. Racicot’s letter as… are you ready for this… are you sitting down… POLITICALLY MOTIVATED!

Kerry Accountants + Lawyers = Bargain Basement Tax Rates
How does one reduce one’s tax rate on $6.8 million in income? You could do what John Kerry does, which is to enlist a squadron of tax accountants and lawyers to keep your taxes at a rock-bottom rate – and then go on a class-warfare jag claiming to fight for the forgotten middle class. Matter of fact, John Kerry and his wife paid an effective tax rate of just 12.8% last year. Sweet deal, especially considering that the middle class for whom Kerry claims to be fighting pays a tax rate closer to 20%. Are your middle class listeners buying this?

Fighting For Middle Class Offshore Accounts?
Duplicity on tax issues isn’t new to John Kerry. Back in the 1980s, seems the Gentleman from Massachusetts needed to shelter some income from taxes so he opted for some offshore companies in the Cayman Islands as his vehicle. Seems Kerry lost his shirt in the deal but hey – it’s the thought that counts. Let’s give him an ‘A’ for effort.

Howsa ‘Bout A Look At Those Tax Returns?
Let’s recap. First, John Kerry and his wife wind up paying an effective tax rate of less than 13% on nearly 7mil in income. We then consider John Kerry’s past attempts at dodging the taxman courtesy of some offshore operations in the Cayman Islands. The Yak is reminded that the wife of the Democrat nominee still refuses to release her tax records. Does this pass the smell test?
